Evile announce Five Serpents’ Teeth

Evile, “the popular Rock outfit”, have announced that their forthcoming album will be called Five Serpents’ Teeth, and is scheduled for release in August this year.

Matt Drake gives the announcement, plus a whole array of shit I cannot be bothered to type up, in the video above.

Expect the album to kick your ass, kill your mother, beat your ears, crush your heart, and eat you soul, among other things.

Caliban covers

I don’t know which is more surprising; the fact Caliban still exist (German Metalcore band, from the early/mid 2000’s, remember?) or the fact that they’ve covered The Beatles’ Helter Skelter for an upcoming covers EP, called Coverfield (what is it with bands making covers albums and trying to give them clever titles?).

The tracklisting for the EP is as follows:

01. My Girlfriend’s Girlfriend (Type O’ Negative)
02. Sonne (Rammstein)
03. Blinded By Fear (At The Gates)
04. Helter Skelter (The Beatles)

You can listen to a sample of the band’s Beatles cover on the player below. Don’t worry, it sounds nothing like The Beatles, luckily.

New The Soulless video

I’ve reviewed The Soulless’ debut album Isolated a month ago and even though I wasn’t blown away by the album, I can enjoy them in small doses. With that being said, ‘Unaltered’ really just isn’t my cup of tea. It just reeks of desperately trying to sound up-to-date.

Why am I reporting about it then? Well, I strongly believe that we need to support up-and-coming artists. Even if they’re not my favorite band, some visitors on this site might enjoy them and I wish them a lot of fun viewing the music video above.

Deconstruction will feature many famous names, including Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth, Bloodbath), Ihsahn (Emperor), Tommy Rogers (Between The Buried And Me), Joe Duplantier (Gojira), Greg Puciato (The Dillinger Escape Plan), Floor Jansen (After Forever, Revamp), Oderus Urungus (GWAR), Paul Masvidal (Cynic), Paul Kuhr (Novembers Doom) and Fredrik Thordendal (Meshuggah).

No RATM album, yo

If you’re waiting for a new Rage Against The Machine album, tough luck. It’s not happening anytime soon, according to a recent Tom Morello interview:

Right now there are no… You know, the band is not writing songs, the band is not in the studio. We get along famously and we all, you know, intend to do more Rage Against The Machine stuff in the future, but beyond sort of working out a concert this year, there’s nothing else on the schedule.

Hey, if you’re desperate for a new RATM album, just take any RATM song you want, play it over and over again and voila… That’s exactly what a new album would sound like.
