I don’t want to say I told you so, but…
I told you so. Another victory for Dose of Metal and our prediction skills. Remember back in February when it was announced that Ginger Fish left Marilyn Manson, and he replaced the touring spot held by Joey Jordison in Rob Zombie‘s band, I speculated that he might eventually take the position permanently, because of Joey’s involvement in Slipknot and Murderdolls? Well, exactly that happened. Don’t trust me? I got proof, bitch.
Rob Zombie announced the news via Twitter earlier today:
“I thought the word was out. New drummer is Ginger Fish. The band just got even weirder.”
Weirder schmeirder, more like slower. It would be interesting to hear some new music done by John 5 and Ginger together, but then, that would also mean new music by Rob Zombie, and I have no idea who’d want that.
Kiss studio footage
In case you haven’t been keeping up with the news, Kiss have official entered the studio to record the follow up to 2009’s crappy Sonic Boom. Don’t worry though, because this album will apparently totally “leave Sonic Boom in the dust.” I mean, can’t you tell how awesome this album is going to be from the amazing riff being played above?
More information can be found at Blabbermouth.
Then two members said, “Nevermore.”
I’m all about the poetry and shit, as you can see. What, you didn’t figure out the post title? Here’s what the writer wanted to say: Two members of Nevermore have left the band. That bring the total number of people leaving their bands to about a dozen, last two weeks of April only (want the exact number, well count it yourself).
Here’s their announcement:
“In a mutual decision Jeff Loomis and Van Williams have decided to leave Nevermore. The time has come to pursue our own paths from the group. Due to internal struggles and ongoing issues within the band, we feel it is our time to move on. We would like to thank all of our fans around the world for their years of love, support and enthusiasm. This was not an easy decision but a very necessary one at this point, may we all meet again someday, somewhere in time.”
What can I say, except “I don’t give a shit?” Hmmm I’ll do my best: Good luck guys.
K.K. talks about leaving Judas
First of all, wouldn’t it have been awesome if K.K. Downing waited just a bit to leave Judas Priest and did it tomorrow? Get it?
Well, he didn’t, and yesterday, the internet was speculating on the reasons of his departure, many fans fearing health issues. Fortunately, he seems to be alright, and he addresses some of the reasons he left the band in a written statement:
“There has been an ongoing breakdown in working relationship between myself, elements of the band, and the band’s management for some time.
Therefore I have decided to step down rather than to tour with negative sentiments as I feel that this would be a deception to you, our cherished fans.”

Bummer, right? Well, apparently his replacement looks a bit like him, so that’s something comforting, right? Put him in some leather pants, no one will notice. Kiss got away with it…
Going retro: Here are a few music videos
Music videos are so out. That’s sort of a good thing because it means people are moving away from watching TV (and shifting to playing FarmVille, but nothing’s perfect). Well, here at Dose of Metal we decided to try and revive your interest in them by looking for the only ones best ones that have just appeared online.
Put on your vintage coats, make the jump and get reminded of the lost art of music videos with these four I dug out.
