QOTSA perform on Conan

Queens Of The Stone Age performed on Conan Thursday night… Well, not literally on Conan, just on his show. Wow, look at you horny little fuckers immediately assuming I was talking about sex. Get some help, Jesus… You’re sick.

Anyway, make the jump to see them playing “If Only” on the ridiculously hideous Team Coco player. We need our own damn player up in this biatch.

Velvet Whateverolver

/

Something new in the land of “Who gives a flying fuck” — Slash has commented on Velvet Revolver’s auditioning process and working with Corey Taylor. According to / (man, I’m full of shit puns today), it “didn’t seem to fit right” with him. Aaaw, poor Corey must be heartbroken.

You can read an excerpt from the interview he gave to someone after the jump, if you really feel like it. Or you can just read our Brad Delson facts collection, because they’re funny and they tell the tale of a real guitar god.

Musicians suck up to Metallica

The Big Four — Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax — are heading over to Indio, California next Saturday April 23. So in honor of this glorious event, ARTISTdirect.com editor author Rick Florino spoke to a few musicians (and I use the term “musicians” loosely) about the first time they heard Metallica and what the band means to them. It’s a truly interesting read… About as exciting as cancer.

Rick spoke to a ton of artists, including Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor, who used the interview to promote his own book. Smooth. Find more on this story over at Blabbermouth, with excerpts from Slash, Jonathan Davis and Sully Erna.

Anyways, if you’re wondering about myself, the details about the first time I heard Metallica can actually be found in my $19.99 autobiography entitled Mark of Dose of Metal – A Metal Journey. Be sure to pick it up..

Start the day with some fresh new music

3 Inches of Blood

Now that’s some Lifehacker-like post title [right]? God, I can’t stand Gawker. But my nerd shit aside, there’s some fresh new music you should (or should not) check out.

Well, if you can’t get up, I recommend hitting Korn’s official website, and downloading their new track “Get Up” we’ve covered previously. If you go back to bed and keep the track on, you’ll have to get up and turn it off, so it’s a win-win after all.

Blindside have made a stream available for their new track “Monester on the Radio.” Listen to it right here.

Texas in July, the band that has almost the same name as Scottish rock band Texas, only in July, have a track available for stream as well. You can listen to that one here.

The band Menstruation 3 Inches of Blood also have something new, a tampon video. You can watch that one after the jump.

Alice Cooper is full of great ideas

Alice Cooper

Not. Apparently Cooper, along with the surviving original members of the band, will be staging a holographic performance on May 11 at London’s Battersea Power Station.

“Featuring original band members Alice Cooper, Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith and Michael Bruce, plus Steve Hunter standing in for the late Glen Buxton, the ‘Jägermeister Ice Cold Event’ will be the first time the group has ‘appeared’ together in the U.K. since 1972.”

Isn’t this just ‘awesome?’ Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t holographic technology one of the most expensive ones out there? So people will probably pay a shitload of money to see a fake concert. Wow. Couldn’t they just, you know, fly over there or something?
