Ewww new Korn…
Korn are apparently streaming a new song, of some upcoming EP or some crap but let me tell you right now (RIGHT NOW!), I don’t give a crap and I did not and will not listen to it. I’m posting about it because some of you (shame on you) might be interested in it.
I honestly just want these guys to go away. It even pains me to see krap like this posted on a serious (we mean business, boooi!) metal website but I’ll just have to go through that for you guys. I’m taking this one for the team.
Click this and your ears will start bleeding. I’ve warned you.
Sepultura play new song live
Most of my articles about Sepultura are about Max Cavalera and the whole reunion debacle but not today. I somehow forgot that these guys are still playing music. We even reported that Sep already finished recording a new album but somehow that went past me.
So, Sepultura are indeed playing new music and that was the case at a recent show, when they were supporting Ozzy Osbourne. You know, that old guy nobody can understand, who invented the guitar or something…
Anywho, want to listen to the song? Well, yay for crappy cellphone footage and Youtube. Make the jump to listen to this brand new song, called ‘Seethe.’
New Machine Head album in the works
What you see above, is the first video of Machine Head preparing to record the follow-up to the masterpiece that is ‘The Blackening.’ “Preparing to record…”? Well, let’s call it “The Making of the New Album”, because that’s what Machine Head called this video.
My thoughts on the video? Well, Robb Flynn shares my opinion on Kiss. Demmel told us not to expect a Blackening 2, which is a good thing. I’ve absolutely loved ‘The Blackening,’ and I still do, but I want the Head to move forward and they seem to want the same thing.
“It’s gonna be heavy but melodic, too, you know? It’s gonna be the heaviest thing we’ve ever done” Phil Demmel made me laugh with that line. Every band that ever entered a studio has to say that line at least once before the record gets released. It’s mandatory.
Also, you can read the working titles for 11 songs, that were shown in the video, after the jump. Take into account that they’re working titles and the titles may change. I just hope #5 stays.
Is there anyone left in Chimaira? [updated]
Andols Herrick has left Chimaira – again. That makes him the third member to leave the band in the past six months (after bassist Jim LaMarca left the band in November, and following the departure of the keyboardist Chris Spicuzza last week). That’s half the band right there. Combine that with the fact the two guitar players are currently involved with Six Feet Under, we come to the realization that Mark Hunter must be one lonely guy right now.
You can read excerpts from his statement after the jump, where he cites issues in the band and the shift in the music industry and his uncertainty about his future as the main reason for deciding to leave them. Wow, what a downer. But it’s a pretty good reason for me to go watch some porn and make myself feel good.
Update: Just as I was about to spank the monkey, something interrupted me. Mark Hunter tweeted, reassuring that the band is not breaking up, and that there will be some sort of news tomorrow detailing the faith of the band.
In Flames reveal album cover and tracklisting
Boring post titles and page hits ftw! In Flames have revealed the tracklisting and the cover for their new album, Sounds of a Playground Passing. When I heard the album title, I thought two things: 1) emo; 2) Korn. And when I saw the album cover, I thought Korn again. Who gives a shit, as long as it doesn’t sound like them, right? Well, tell that to the 2004 In Flames fan.
Read on to see the tracklisting and the album cover.
