Skinlab like covers
I’d love to be able to say I know who Skinlab are, and I’d love to be able to say that I care, but I don’t. Of course, I could spend two minutes on Wikipedia and then pretend like I’ve know everything, but (faux) professionalism isn’t my thing. If you do know who Skinlab are, congratulations, here’s a medal.
So anyways, the band are apparently releasing a covers EP soon called Under The Influence, a title that is almost as witty as my posts. Here’s the tracklisting for the album, courtesy of Metal Hammer. It looks about as riveting as the prospect of a Saturday night with me. I give them props for choosing Ten Ton Hammer though, as it’s a great song, and one that’s often over looked.
Nailbomb – Wasting Away
Acid Bath – Paegan Love Song
Crowbar – Planets Collide
Level – Push
Machine Head – Ten Ton Hammer
Footage of Slayer’s replacement’s replacement is out
We’ve already covered news of Pat O’Brien (Cannibal Corpse) replacing Gary Holt (Exodus) who was replacing Jeff Hanneman in Slayer, who was bitten by a spider.
Whay are we reposting this as news? Because we’ve got something to add: Awesome HD footage of the first show of Slayer performing with Pat (from Vienna, Austria, taken on April 7th) has been posted to YouTube. It’s fan made (meaning someone smuggled a camera to the show), but still… HD! It’s almost like 3D, except with a letter instead of a digit! So, put on your HD glasses now, and make the jump for two more videos.
Def Rockline
Hey guys, what has 9 arms and can’t really play an instrument? An octopus on Guitar Hero.
Speaking of 9 arms, Def Leppard will be on the radio…
That’s right, according to Blabbermouth, the band “will guest on the nationally syndicated radio show ‘Rockline’ with host Bob Coburn on Wednesday, May 11 at 8:30 p.m. PT / 11:30 p.m. ET.”
Don’t worry, they won’t be late… They can find a good parking spot pretty much anywhere.
Max Cavalera wants Ozzy and Jaymz
Max Cavalera wants Ozzy Osbourne and James Hetfield… Not in that way (I hope), he wants to work with them.
“Ozzy is, of course, the Godfather of metal and Black Sabbath and his solo career. I’ve played with him many times and I know him personally, but I’ve never got to actually ask him to record anything yet. But I think at one point the chance will definitely come. I would also like to do something with James Hetfield because I love old Metallica and I’ve always been a big fan of the thrash that Metallica brought and I like James’ vocals. I thought a thrash song with me and James singing would have been really cool, too.“
Read full interview here.
A thrash song with James? Haha, what’s next? Death Metal with Miley Cyrus?
But seriously, I can see why one would want to work with two of the most legendary metal frontmen of all time, but this isn’t the 80s… If you want to work with these two, you’d have to have a National Geographic show about hunting or a reality show… Just sayin’.
Evile know what day it is
If you’re a fan of Rebecca Black (and you should be) then you’re in luck… Evile sang a bit of “Friday” while playing around with auto-tune. The result? Better than the original, of course.
Fun fun fun fun…
Anyway, make the jump for the video… If you live under a rock and you don’t know Rebecca Black, click here first.
