Volbeat release new video
As some of you might know, I’m someone who’s always encouraging fans of hard music to experiment with new, different types of artists. I think Volbeat is a band people should check out. They just released their latest video, ‘16 Dollars,‘ and the song comes off their fourth studio album, “Beyond Hell/Above Heaven.”
Volbeat definitely have a unique sound to them. A lot of you are probably already fans, while a lot of you probably aren’t too familiar. They’re obviously a metal band. A metal band that has a lot of musical influences, most notably a huge rockabilly sound…
Don’t be a fool and check out this band! Give the latest Volbeat video a chance after the jump.
Dirty Woman Pain
Pain, forerunners of the current stupidest band name awards, have released a brand new song for streaming on their Facebook page. The song, titled Stupid Woman, comes from the band’s seventh album, You Only Live Twice, scheduled for release on June 3 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Blabbermouth have all the additional information regarding the album, I on the other hand, have nothing but a large ego penis and a self diagnosis for laziness. If you’re wondering who Pain are though, and why you should check them out, they are fronted by none other than Peter Tägtgren of the brilliant Hypocrisy.
Ozzy has funeral plans
Ozzy is thinking about his funeral (can you blame him?) and he got it figured out. He wants it to be a celebration and not just a bunch of people crying…
“I don’t care what they play at my funeral; they can put on a medley of Justin Bieber, Susan Boyle and We Are The Diddymen if it makes ’em happy — but I do want to make sure it’s a celebration, not a mope-fest. I’d also like some pranks maybe the sound of knocking inside the coffin, or a video of me asking my doctor for a second opinion on his diagnosis of ‘death’.“

I wanted to joke around about this but hell, the guy is right. Death is a hard thing to cope with and funerals are making it worse for your family. The death itself is a huge blow, no need for all these stupid traditions gathering people you don’t know, don’t know well or want to avoid faking sadness and feeling sorry for you.
And who wouldn’t want that medley at their funeral? This man deserves a medal.
Evanescence still exist
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but according to Blabbermouth, not only do Evanescence still exist, but they’re also working on a new album. The band will be entering the studio next week to begin work on the follow up to 2006’s The Open Door.
Of course though, the band contain none of the original members other than frontwoman Amy Lee. Really, they’re like the Gothic Nu Metal version of Guns N’ Roses, just without the cool music. Or attractive singer.
Allegedly the band are going into a more Dance/New Wave/Electronic territory for this release, so expect it to be even worse than their last album, which was of the clichéd “we’re going heavy” approach.
Invisible Guitar Hero championship
Here’s a guitar playing event made for people like me. When I say people like me, I mean people who can’t play the real guitar, and what’s even worse, suck at Guitar Hero as well. So, what is it? It’s the Air Guitar Championship! If you’re in Milwaukee this summer, be sure to check it out.
“U.S. Air Guitar is devoted to taking our nation’s unofficial pastime out of the bedroom and putting it up on the world stage,” said the World Air Guitar Association in a statement this week.
It will all go down on June 8 at 8 p.m., with advance tickets going on sale for $10 on April 8 and costing $12 on event day.
Don’t be fooled, though, just because there’s no real guitar involved, doesn’t mean it doesn’t take talent. It takes a lot of invisible talent. And if you’ve always wanted to impress some invisible chicks, this is your chance. Make the jump to see a video of the current air guitar champion.
