Nikki Sixx has a book

Nikki Sixx

How Nikki Sixx found an audience to sell his book to must be one of the world’s greatest unexplained mysteries. Sort of like yawning. You know, when you see someone do it and immediately start doing it yourself. Why does that happen? I bet you are yawning right now. Is it because I mentioned yawning, or because I mentioned Nikki Sixx? Who knows. But, he did find a few people and will hold a  few book signing events. Yawn.

Good news for those living in the 18th Century

Old school Metalheads of the world, some fantastic news for you guys that are just too stubborn to enter the 21st Century, or just realize that MP3s sound like premature jizz and Vinyl sounds like orgasmic brilliance. Not that I would know though, I’m still rockin’ my tapedeck like it’s 1995.

Roadrunner Records, along with Opeth and Machine Head, will be participating in some “cool” Record Store Day Initiatives this April 16.

Inspired by the length of my penis, Opeth will release seven-inch vinyl of “The Throat of Winter”. The track, which was originally featured on the “God Of War: Blood & Metal” digital EP, will see its first and only physical incarnation with this special release. Side B of the seven-inch (the record, not my penis) is etched with the band’s logo (although BTW, my penis is etched with all 443 of my past lovers’ names – it’s just that damn big).

Inspired by the length of my penis when erect (it’s 7 inches when floppy), Machine Head will release 10-inch vinyl, titled The Black Procession. The record includes three previously unreleased live tracks that were recorded along 2010’s Black Procession Tour, in support of the band’s last studio effort, The Blackening.

Between The Buried And Me frontman Solo details

Tommy Rogers, keyboardist and lead vocalist of the Prog Metallers Between the Buried and Me,  has announced the details of his upcoming solo tour.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Thomas Giles (which is the pseudonym Tommy Rogers goes by for his solo shit. Confused? Me too, but it doesn’t take a lot) released his debut solo album Pulse last month through Metal Blade records. Tommy Rogers had previously released an album in 2005, through Victory Records, under the name Giles though (ok now I’m definitely confused).

So on with the news. Tommy Rogers has announced who will be making up his live band for the Thomas Giles tour and, my God, you will be in for a surprise. Actually, I’m lying, he basically did the most predictable thing possible and got his bandmates from Between the Buried and Me to help him out. Completing the band’s line-up is Paul Waggoner (BTBAM) on Guitar, Josh Brigham (Hopesfall) on Bass and Will Goodyear (BTBAM) on Drums and backing vocals.

The tour dates are as follows:

Mar. 30 – Charlotte, NC – Casbah @ Tremont Music Hall
Mar. 31 – Norfolk, VA – Jewish Mother
Apr. 01 – Philadelphia, PA – North Star Bar
Apr. 02 – New York, NY – Santos Party House
Apr. 03 – Providence, RI – The Met

The second biggest disaster this year is coming

Limp Bizkit

…and I don’t think the world is going to survive this one. According to ThePRP, Limp Bizkit have teamed up with none other than Lil Wayne on a song on their upcoming album “Gold Cobra.” The governments of the world are concerned, UN are coordinating preemptive measures such as building massive world-wide sound shelters, while Red Cross is on standby and collecting Amon Amarth CDs to give out as first aid.

We also predict Wes Borland is about to leave the band once again after he gets humiliated by Lil Wayne’s guitar skills. Make the jump to witness the guitar god at his best.

Shit on a Broadway

Fair’s fair, I’ve had a terrible weekend, so it’s only fair that I now ruin your weekend. Apologies in advance, but I’m just a dick like that. Scars On Broadway have released a new official live video for their track known as Fucking, which can be viewed above. Presumably its full title is Fucking Awful, but I could be wrong. I’ve been wrong before, once, a long time ago, when I was about 4.

If this post does serve just one purpose though, it is to prove that the System of a Down reunion can’t be all bad. It can only mean less of the shit above.
