Iron Maiden: The book

Iron Maiden will release a book. When? In May. What about? Their studio time. Why? $$

“John Blake Publishing will release “Iron Maiden: In The Studio” by music biographer Jake Brown. Spanning the band’s entire 30-year catalog, the writing and recording of such classic albums as “The Number of the Beast”, “Piece of Mind”, “Brave New World” and “The Final Frontier”, and hits as “2 Minutes to Midnight”, “Wasted Years”, “Can I Play With Madness?”, “Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter”, “The Wicker Man”, “The Trooper”, “Run To The Hills”, “Powerslave” and “Hallowed Be Thy Name”, among countless others, is chronicled.”

I’m also releasing a book. It’s called “Dose Of Metal: Sex without condoms” and it will chronicle my sexual escapades on Chatroulette.com.

Metal Militia strikes again

Mike Starr

When I say “Metal Militia,” I actually mean cops who are busting on musicians. *queue Cops theme song*

So, we already know Paul Di’Anno will probably spend some time in prison for tax benefit frauds; last week Vince Neil started serving his 15-day sentence for DUI and speeding charges. And the latest victim of doing crimes and getting caught for it: former Alice in Chains bass player, Mike “Gangstarr” Starr. Apparently, he was caught with an illegal substance. At first we thought cops busted him with a Creed CD, but it was just unknown drugs. What will the Celebrity Rehab starr do when someone pays his $20.000 bail and he gets out? Will he appear in another season? Seriously speaking for a second, someone’s addiction isn’t anything to be laughed at, even though we’re kind of past that point already. Oh well now… Make the jump and see the mugshot.

Stone Sour Hesitate live

No, Stone Sour didn’t recently hesitate and forget their music whilst performing live (although that may not have been a bad thing). They did, however, recently perform the song Hesitate live on ABC-TV‘s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” show.

Check out the performance above. That is unless you’re like me and the sounds of Staind and the Backstreet Boys clashing together discordantly just doesn’t appeal, in which case you won’t hesitate in avoiding pressing the play button at all costs. If you’re interested in more Stone Sour shit though, press that play button and find more here.

Fans still supporting Motörhead

Last week in North America,  Motörhead released their 986th album, The Wörld Is Yours.  The album cracked the top 100, selling 7,000 copies in its first week, which is considered an impressive amount for a metal, unless you’re Metallica.  Sure, 7,000 copies might not seem a lot but that’s more than their previous two albums (Motörizer in 2008 sold 6,400 in its first week and their 2006 release Kiss Of Death sold 3,500).

When asked for comment on the bands success over the last 30 years and what keeps them still going strong, Lemmy said “that was a great time, the summer of 71.  I can’t remember it, but I’ll never forget it!”
