Bands still like streams

Want to hear some new music for free, and not have to commit to actually hitting a download button? Great news then, because lots of bands have been offering their music free for streaming recently (as like 99% of bands have been doing for years anyways).

Amon Amarth, which you should know by now, are awesome, have released another new song. Slaves of Fear can be heard here. It’s so awesome, that I just ditched my girlfriend on Valentine’s Day, so I can listen to this on repeat for the next 7 hours.

If that’s a little too awesome for you though (how many times am I going to say ‘awesome’ in this post?), then try something a little softer instead. Becoming the Archetype (yes, “who?” indeed) have released a new song, The Magnetic Sky online for streaming. Check it out here.

Finally, Devildriver have also released a new song for streaming. You Make me Sick (which also happens to be the words I uttered to my now ex-girlfriend today when I ditched her to listen to Metal instead) can be heard here.

Deicide are still Bible Bashers

One of Jesus Christ’s favourite death metal bands ever, Deicide are back with a new album out February 15th, titled To Hell With God (haven’t they had a title similar to that in the past? Seems like it).  They have also decided to stream the entire album on their record labels website, Century Media.

Have I listened to this? Not yet.  I’ve been too busy tonight talking on a phone with a Russian escort that just turned 19 and has 34 FFF breasts.  It’s costing me a fortune to bang her today on Valentine’s day but it will be worth it for those huge jugs!

Enough of that, back to Deicide, check out the album here .  If you enjoy what you hear, don’t be cheap and order it for $10.

Jailbird Di’Anno

Paul Di'Anno

Paul Di’Anno, one time singer for Iron Maiden (before they went on to look for their singers in flight schools), is going to jail.

No, he hasn’t been playing Monopoly and landed up there (btw, isn’t Monopoly the worst board game ever? It never fucking ends…) he was playing a bit more adult games.

It seems that he’s been cheating on the British taxpayers, claiming to have suffered from sciatica — some disease I probably misspelled which is essentially nerve damage to the back, which rendered him unable to play live shows, but able to collect over $67.500 in benefits. And of course, he was playing live shows all the time. Worst criminal ever.

Anyway, he pleaded guilty, and you can read more legal talk after you make the jump. Just a quick hint, this is not the first time he’s been in legal troubles — he’s been deported from the United States and hasn’t been there for almost 20 years, because he did jail time in early 90s, “for guns and drugs.”

QOTSA to perform QOTSA

Queens Of The Stone Age, the band fronted by the giant leprechaun version of Elvis, will perform their first self-titled album in its entirety.

I usually don’t trust gingers but this info seems legit. Apparently fans voted on Facebook or something. I really don’t know. Why don’t you just have a look yourself before you start asking all these questions. I’m not CNN, Jesus.

P.S. = Josh, if you’re reading this, please don’t beat me up 🙁

Gary Moore’s last hours

It’s an unfair life for people who appreciate guitar playing. Dimebag dead. Gary Moore dead. Brad Delson alive.

But whilst I did steal a joke from Chris Rock, I can’t joke about this any further. I loved Gary Moore‘s playing and “Still Got The Blues” is one of my favorite guitar performances ever. I’m glad I got to see him live last summer and I hope his music will live on to be heard by others.

If you want to read an article about Mr. Moore‘s last hours, click here.

I’m posting an article about QOTSA after this so I’ll have a lot of ginger jokes to make up for this serious post.

R.I.P. Gary Moore.
