Are you ready for the new shit?
Did I just quote Marilyn Manson in the post title? Let me redeem myself from the fact that I know that with some metal.
Cavalera Conspiracy have posted a 30 second teaser of a new song. A teaser for a song, come on. But they’ve promised a free download next week, so it’s okay.
We’ve already written about DevilDriver posting new stuff, refresh your memory here.
Protest The Hero have posted their first single from the upcoming album online, called “C’est La Vie” online. C’est La opportunity and listen to it.
And finally, Darkest Hour have also figured out how to use the internet.
Think Tankian
Serj Tankian, the up and coming politician and/or general douchebag, has many tricks up his sleeve when it comes to being creative and spreading his message. Here’s how it went for his first solo album: 1) Release album. 2) Release a symphonic version of said album.
He decided to push the envelope for his second solo album, Imperfect Harmonies (read a review here): 1) Release album. 2) Release a remix version of said album.
To make things worse, it seems that he couldn’t pay enough amateurs to remix the entire thing, so only “selected” tracks will make it as an EP. View the cover after the jump.
The Haunted reveal tracklisting
The Haunted have revealed the tracklisting for their forthcoming album, Unseen.
Normally I’d either try and make a joke or just rip into the band right about now, but The Haunted are too damn awesome for that.
Find the tracklisting after the jump. You play a game, and try and imagine what the songs will sound like from the names or some crap.
Architects sell the odd album
British scene-core band (Metalcore? Deathcore? Apple Core?) Architects apparently did rather well in their home country with their latest album, The Here and Now, debuting at number 57 in the charts.
In the US, however, the band didn’t do quite so well. They sold 900 copies in the first week. Which is roughly half as many cakes I sold in my school bake sale, 15 years ago. Although to be fair, there was a man that looked like Gary Glitter buying all the cakes.
Read more here. About the band silly, not my school bake sale.
Six Feet Under announce new drummer
Recently, Terry Butler (bass) and Greg Gall (drums) left Six Feet Under to concentrate on other bands. According to Chris Barnes, he and Steve Swanson have been writing with a new partner for 4 months already. Now, SFU announced their new drummer, former Chimaira, Daath and Misery Index drummer Kevin Talley.
“I am 110 percent stoked to have Kevin join Six Feet Under. He is undeniably one of the best, if not THE best drummer in death metal, and I’m proud to have him along for the ride!”
– Chris Barnes
And now it’s time for some speculation. 4 months ago, around the time Barnes and Swanson started writing new SFU tunes with a new writing partner, Jim LaMarca quit playing the bass for Chimaira. Chimaira are known for being SFU fans and now that former Chimaira drummer Kevin Talley joined Six Feet Under, it wouldn’t surprise me if LaMarca (or even Rob Arnold) were to join them, too.
