Get ready, America! (updated)
It was obvious that this was gonna happen after the media attention and the DVD sales, but now it’s confirmed. The Big Four are coming to the U.S.
No dates yet, but there’s a big poster on Metallica‘s official website. You can either check it out there or make the jump to see it here. They’re also advertising this Facebook page, but right now all it has is a photo of elephants. Not cool to make fun of Kerry King like that, if you ask me.
So Dave will have to pretend to like Lars for a little while longer. Finally he can promote himself using Metallica‘s name without taking a jab at them. His dream came true.
Anyways, I caught two Big Four dates in Europe last year and it was definitely worth my time, so make sure you check them out if you can. Don’t forget, they’re also doing England and France this summer…
**UPDATE**: They posted a new image on the Facebook page saying more details will be announced tomorrow (January 25th). Stay tuned, we’ll be making fun reporting this. Image after the jump.
Captain Overboard offer album for download
There are two things Captain Overboard–Radio Earth! can do well: make good music and make it impossible for me to use their entire name in the post title. You had to trust us for the first thing (read our review of their debut album here), but now that’s about to change, because the band have offered their entire album for stream and download on their bandcamp page. The album comes in high quality mp3 and FLAC formats, and the offer stands for limited time, so rush over there and check it out.
You can also hear a few songs after you make the jump. Do that as well.
Disturbed let you in on their secret
Another nu metal post, you might be thinking. Well, it seems it’s (the) shit right now, and we’re all about selling out and following trends. Which reminds me, it’s time to cut my scene hair and find my old red cap and baggy pants.
But I digress… Disturbed drummer Mike Wengren decided to let us in on the secret behind their success. I was ready to place my bet on the fact that they might hide an actual dog in the studio which records “vocals” for half their songs, but his version is different — he says they’re successful because they don’t have filler songs.
“That’s not the way we go,” Wengren told RockAAA.com. “We feel like every song on the record could be a single, and our fans know that. They know when the buy a record of ours they are going to get a full package, they know we won’t let them down and they don’t let us down either. Our fans are very loyal and very passionate about us.”
Well, I guess in a way, he’s right, there are no “filler” songs because all the songs are of similar (low) quality. But I’m just being mean now. They’re also re-releasing their first album, which I guess means they don’t do filler albums either. Or am I really just telling the truth?
Spineshank reveal album title
No, you haven’t accidentally stepped into a time-warp. Yet another band from the Nu-Metal era obviously in need of some more cash, the reformed Spineshank have announced that their new album will be called Anger Denial Acceptance.
The band don’t make any great promises, instead saying that, for better or worse, the band are still just being themselves. If you’re still a fan of Spineshank (do Spineshank fans still exist?), I guess it can only be a good thing.

The Haunted ghost
The Haunted recently performed a brand new song from their forthcoming album, Unseen, entitled No Ghost. The track was performed yesterday at the P3 Guld, the Swedish radio’s annual music awards in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Watch crappy fan-made footage of the No Ghost after the jump. And whilst you’re at it, if you haven’t already, check out our crappy amazing interview with Peter Dolving right here.
