Motley Sue

More Mötley Crüe news for you today, although I must admit, I’m merely posting this news for my amazingly witty title. Ok, it’s not that witty, but considering my greatest achievement in my life is my 5 meter swimming badge I gained last year, this post is pretty high in my list of great things I’ve done. Not to mention it’s nearly as highbrow as my Motley poo joke.

So on with the post…

Mötley Crüe are apparently being sued Ron Toma who claims he owns the copyright to the “belt buckle photo” taken by photographer Michael Pinter back in 1981, used for the band’s debut album, Too Fast for Love. The band used the image without permission on hooded sweatshirts they are selling on their web sites.

So basically, some guy claim he owns the image of a male crotch. I would have used the image of the cover for my above picture, but I’m scared of getting sued. So instead I’ve used a picture of a woman called Sue, who just so happens to be wearing a Mötley Crüe t-shirt. Find the Too Fast for Love picture and all the info here.

Vince Neil’s sobriety is questionable

Ah rockstars. Gotta love their consistency.

There’s other things in life than just drugs and alcohol said Vince Neil one week prior to his DUI charge. I guess he’s right, there’s other things than drugs and alcohol… Things like… Driving while on drugs and alcohol. Can’t fault your logic, mr. Neil.

“Vince Neil will plead guilty to a drunken driving charge on January 26 and spend two weeks in a Las Vegas jail. He was arrested by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for driving while intoxicated and speeding at 60 mph in a 45 mph zone in his Lamborghini sports car on June 27 near the Las Vegas Strip. He will serve 15 days in the Clark County Detention Center, followed by another 15 days of house arrest.

Do as I say, not as I do, right Vince? Hey, Lemmy drinks too, at least he owns up to it. So no judgment from me for your ‘hobbies,’ just don’t fucking lecture us on it if you’re not gonna stay sober. That’s all I’m asking. Is it too much?

Bands talk about money

He didn't sell out.

Thanks to this post, I was able to read this post. And you’re reading a repost about it here, which makes me feel like I’m on Tumblr.

Anyway, members of Thursday and a few other (mostly hardcorish, but we don’t discriminate) bands talked about being in the band, and well, having to pay bills at the end of the month like everyone else. It’s a lengthy post, but it’s worth your read, I can guarantee, because I wouldn’t have bothered myself if it weren’t any good.

And while you’re at it, read Guido’s views on metal, popularity and selling out right here.

Slipknot’s Clown has a new project

Just a few weeks ago I was getting very excited at the news of Slipknot‘s DJ releasing his debut solo work, but forget that, because we have even bigger news now. The guy in Slipknot who dresses up as a clown, bashes a trash-can every so often and directs pretentious videos to hide the fact they’re actually rather poor, now has a new project called The Black Dots of Death. The debut album, titled as Ever Since We Were Children is set for release in March.

So mark that in your Slipknot (limited edition) diaries, with your Slipknot pens, ‘knot fans. Personally though, I haven’t heard music this bad since I was a child (perhaps the thought behind the album title?), so you may want to take my advice and not bother.

The shit I couldn’t be bothered to type up can be found at this location.

Amon Amarth reveal artwork and track listing

I’ll be honest with you. If you don’t like Amon Amarth, you’re not metal, in my book. And my book is the be-all-end-all of all things metal. I’m extremely excited for their upcoming album so it was natural that I was excited at the following news.

Amon Amarth recently revealed the artwork and track listing of their upcoming album ‘Surtur Rising,’ to be released on March 29, 2011. Make the jump for the artwork, done by Tom Thiel, and the tracklist.
