Iron Maiden’s En Vivo! trailer released
Iron Maiden have released a trailer for their upcoming live album/video release, called En Vivo! En Vivo means ugly hairdo in Spanish, so it’s clear why they’ve called it that.
While it looks good, I couldn’t help but feel cheated. I mean, they taped the thing in Chile. I somehow get the feeling that any band can go to South America and make a killer live DVD. Does using that stereotype make me a douchebag? Sure, but it doesn’t make me wrong. The album comes out March 26/27 (worldwide/North America).
Josh Newton reunites Shiner, will re-release some plastic
In a case of early Monday “who did whaaaat, leave me the fuck alone I want to sleep” we got the news that Josh Newton (former Every Time I Die, current The Damned Things, With Knives bass player) reunited his old project, Shiner.
The band will re-release The Egg on vinyl, which is the occasion for the reunion (a few live shows have been announced). Do you care about any of this? Congrats. You’ve outnerded me when it comes to knowledge of bands.
Dusty playing tennis
Hey, want to know what Dusty Peterson does when he’s not writing for this awesome metal blog Dose of Metal? Wait a second, thinking about it, Dusty hasn’t written much for us lately. Lazy bastard! I can’t say I blame him though, because I enjoy being a lazy bum myself way too often. And it’s not like he’s not working, since he’ll be doing the artwork for the upcoming Six Feet Under album and I bet numerous other stuff.
But leaving all that aside, Dusty has been posting on the ConceptArt forum and he shared a very cool link on his Facebook page. Check it out yourself right here.
It’s recent and it contains bloody stuff, so I guess this counts as metal news. If it doesn’t, well fuck you. That’s all I can come up with right now. It’s almost 3 am, bite me.
Tarja Turunen performed somewhere in Lithuania
Tarja Turunen, former Nightwish singer, performed live in Lithuania and someone taped the thing, it made it to Blabbermouth and I’m now posting it here.
Why? Because I’m scared what could happen if I didn’t. I’m also scared of making fun of her. I mean, just look at her. She looks like she’s twice as tall as me. No, seriously, I get a strong dominatrix vibe, I can’t even imagine all the kinky stuff that goes on in her bedroom. She probably makes use of her “vibrato” on the men a lot.
Now, before she finds me and kicks the living shit out of me (which isn’t an achievement really, so the joke’s on you Tarja), I’ll stop. There’s a video for Nemo above and you can play it if you want, I posted it because it’s like the only Nightwish song I know. Ghost, Mastodon and Opeth tour has been speculated, kinda confirmed and now completely confirmed by Mastodon themselves.
