Shocking: Aaron Lewis is a country music star

Oh my god, how could this happen? It’s not like the last Staind album to have proper heavy music was released about ten years ago, nooo sir. And it’s not like each new album after that sounded more and more acoustic and 3-doors-downier than the last.WHERE DID THIS COME FROM?

In case you’ve missed the sarcasm, Aaron Lewis‘ latest (and also very natural) step in his musical career was to record a country album. And apparently, he made the right choice, because he’s making money. And at the end of the day, that’s the only thing that matters, right? The cycle is complete.

P.S. Make the jump to see his video for “Country Boy,” named like that just so the people in Texas wouldn’t get confused as to whether this is a rock or a country album when they recognize Aaron‘s fat face.

Second Big Four gig confirmed

The Big Four, also known as ‘The Big One and another three bands,’ confirmed another date for next year. This time it’s the French Sonisphere. Me oui, je suis tres content.

This is happening on the 9th of July, and Slipknot seems to be playing on the 8th. I get it, bad metal the first day. Good metal the second day to make you appreciate the improvement. Good idea.

Mike Portnoy leaves another band

Last time, it was the phenomenal, Dream Theater, but it’s ok, because this time it’s only Avenged Sevenfold.

Why did he leave? Maybe he was tired of simply ripping off better bands. Or maybe the guys asked him to also wear eyeliner and dress like a girl? Who knows… I would read the statement to find out, but it’s only Avenged Sevenfold, so it’s not like I actually care.

If you care, here’s the statement Mike made (stolen from Blabbermouth of course):

“Yes, the rumors are true… Sadly my time with Avenged Sevenfold has come to an end… The band has decided to carry on into 2011 without me…” said Mike whilst counting his money.

A nostalgic nu-moment in Paris

I’ve never liked Papa Roach, but I kinda respected their will to not wear sponsored clothing when they hit it big, as other bands at the time were doing it. But then all the respect went out the window when I saw Jacoby Shaddix looking like a Fall Out Boy member. God, just look at that photo!

Anyway, apparently Mr. Shaddix joined Chino Moreno on stage in the most romantic city in the world. Did they kiss? No idea, but they did perform “7 Words” together. Aww, bless them.

Poison frontman and toupée superstar Bret Michaels seems to be famous.

According to People Magazine, he is one of the ‘25 Most Intriguing People of 2010.’
According to Dose Of Metal, no he isn’t.
