Aliases sign with Basick
Technical Math-Metallers, Aliases, a band you probably haven’t heard of (although, if you’re a regular reader of DoM, you might have seen me mention them before), have signed to Basick Records.
Formed back in April 2010, Aliases consist of ex-Sikth guitarist Pin, guitarist Leah Woodward, drummer Darren Pugh, bassist Joe Heaton and vocalist Jay Berast.
Pin made some comments, the usual PR stuff, but if you’re interested (and you should be, because I say so) check out more here.
Hopefully this also means the band will do some more promo shots, so I don’t have to keep re-using the same picture over and over again.
System of a Download
Apparently, in regards to the much rumored reunion, an official announcement concerning a System of a Down comeback will be made on Monday 29th November. The brighter readers of DoM might also have worked out that just by coincidence, that also happens to be the same day that the UK’s Download Festival is making their own special announcement. Wow what a coincidence…
When asked by a fan via Twitter if there is any truth to reports that System of a Down will play next year’s Download festival, bassist Shavo Odadjian replied, “Stay tuned.”
It’s looking likely that the band will be announcing a full tour next year, with them headlining many of the top summer festivals. Read more here.
Let the hammer fall!
Hammerfall recently released a video on Youtube regarding their upcoming new album. The video features lead vocalist Joacim Cans and producer James Michael, who happened to produce the latest brilliant Motley Crue record.
The video is short and boring. James Michael basically has a semi hard-on when explaining how it’s an honor working with Hammerfall. Then you got Joacim in a swimming pool expressing his love for the new album. He goes off saying this will be Hammerfall’s best album to date, best sounding album, will be best selling album, blah blah.

Children of Bodom get reckless
Better start saving your Christmas monies, because Children of Bodom will be releasing their brand new album, Relentless Reckless Forever, on March 8, 2011.
Let’s just hope the music is better than the album’s title. Read more over at Blabbermouth.
We hope you like horror movies
Lemmy has a documentary about him, and you’ll never guess the name. It’s called ‘Lemmy.’ Anyways, we’ve posted about it before, but now we know it will be in theaters in mid-January and on DVD and Blu-Ray on the 15th of February. Now, as soon as I read “Lemmy” and “Blu-Ray” I thought… MOLES IN HD. HOLY SHIT.
If you like seeing topless zombies, à la Dawn of the Dead, then expect to see two deformed zombie tits hanging around next to a mustache in glorious full HD. I think I’m buying the DVD on this one.
Anyways, you can check out some reviews of the film: Variety | Inside Pulse | Hollywood Reporter. A teaser after the jump.
