Every Time I Joke Around

Whoa…looks like Every Time I Die got themselves in a little mess.

They basically made some fake “RT” Tweets from various famous celebrities.  The whole point of this joke was to promote their upcoming new album “New Junk Aesthetic”/Shit Happens: The Series?“(wow, what a really stupid title) and now it seems Every Time I Die are in legal trouble because of the silly joke.

Opeth frontman doesn't take criticism well

When it comes to Opeth, it’s Mikael Åkerfeldt‘s way or the highway. That’s what the Opeth frontman recently admitted in a recent interview with UK’s Guitarist magazine.

Musically, I don’t compromise for anyone. If you ask me to do it a certain way, you can just fuck off, if you know what I mean. Once the music and the lyrics are done, I can be a bit of a whore. If that’s what the label wants me to do — I’ll do their interviews. But when it comes to the music, it’s sacred to me. I can be like the Antichrist when it comes to people interfering with the music. Not the band — that’s not a problem at all — but if a record label executive came up to me and said, “That riff is not good,” I would probably headbutt him. “Shut the fuck up and sell the record.”

So there you go… If you ever meet Åkerfeldt, you better tell him everything he does is nothing short of God-like, otherwise the man is going to be pissed as hell. That shouldn’t be a problem though, since everything the man does musically IS God-like.

White Headlines

White Wizzard (pictured above) covered “We Rock” and then offered it for free download. You can get it here, but be warned, you have to sign up with your email. It’s a trick. Don’t do it!!!

The clown from Slipknot went to Sirius for an interview. Did he wear his stupid mask? Of course he did. Anyways, he pretty much says the band is moving forward without Paul (shocking, I know) and other stuff I didn’t really pay attention to cause I’m drawing tits in Photoshop. Watch the video after the jump.

“Married to Rock” is a new reality series that follows the lives of three “rock star wives.” These chicks are married to members of Velvet Revolver and Jane’s Addiction, so my question is, what rockers are they talking about?

Bret Michaels was on Ellen to talk about… wait for it… his ‘health.’ Didn’t see that one coming, did you? Watch the video after the jump if you still haven’t gotten sick of his ramblings about his stroke like the rest of us.

A dream never dreamt

According to former Deep Purple keyboardist, Jon Lord, who recently spoke to UK’s Classic Rock magazine, a reunion of the Mk. III lineup is just a dream and nothing more.

“I think it’s a dream too far,” Lord said. “I know a lot of people would like it to happen, but it would have to have Ian Paice involved, and right now he’s committed to the current Purple lineup.”

Seriously, does anyone still care? What is it with bands with 73-year-old members talking about reunions? Just let it stay in the past. If you do care, however, read more here.

As I Lay Dying fashion conscious?

Not content with just being the frontman for Christian Metalcore mob, As I Lay Dying, Tim Lambesis has started his own clothing label, called Modern Rebellion.

Why do so many Metalcore and screamo bands end up starting their own clothing labels? Is it because, like the genres they are a part of, their only concern is fashion? What do clothes have to do with music?

But seriously, the point of this clothing label is apparently to support non-profit charity, Trees Of Glory, an organization dedicated to providing clean water for children in Duber, Ethiopia.  Lambesis has also personally visited orphanages, which will be supported by his clothing label.

You can check out the shirts here.
