Rejoice! Trivial Trivium are back
Good news. Everyone’s favorite trivial cover band, Trivium, are heading into the studio in December to record the follow up to 2008’s Shogun. This will also be the first release with new drummer, Nick Augusto (not pictured above).
Who will Metallica Trivium rip-off draw inspiration from next? Lol Who cares?
Headlines
Scott Weiland (pictured above) is drunk even when sober. Hear him mumble in an interview even though he claimed to be on the wagon.
Honda is trying to be cool, so their new minivan commercial features Judas Priests‘ “The Hellion.” See the commercial, after the jump.
And speaking of Judas, Rob Halford was recently interviewed on a radio show named after a Boss pedal (The Metalzone).
Altars of Destruction released a new music video. Is it any good? No. Does it look like a home video from the 80s? Yes. Can I watch it after the jump? Hell yeah.
Fired Anthrax singer fires back
Old Anthrax singer, Dan Nelson, has slammed the band for their performance of “new” song, Fight ‘Em ‘Til You Can’t, with new old Anthrax singer, Joey Belladonna. Confused? Yeah we all are when it comes to this band and their singers.
The original version of the song was written and recorded last year, with Dan Nelson on vocals. After he left, or quit, or was fired, the band still used the song, performing it for the “first” time (with Joey) last night (click)
Writing via his Twitter profile guitarist Scott Ian stated about the Uniondale concert, “NY show didn’t disappoint. Craziest pit of the tour! We played new one ‘Fight ‘Em ‘Til You Can’t’ for the first time in the States.”
A short time later, Nelson took to his own Twitter profile to correct Ian, writing:
“‘Fight ‘Em ‘Til You Can’t’ for the first time in the States, eh?? Wouldn’t that be at the Double Door in Chicago when we played the song WE ALL wrote together?? I guess Chicago is no longer in the States??”
Videos and screenshots of the tweets stolen borrowed from Blabermouth can be found after the jump.
Guns N' Roses to play Israel
No, not the guys above. The guys that look and sound completely different, but seem to share the same name. I would post a picture of them, but they have like 25 recurring members, and fuck knows who any of them are.
Guns N’ Roses haven’t performed in Israel in 17 years. Although Israel won’t be seeing the band again any time soon, they will soon be “fortunate” enough to witness the shambolic performance of Axl Rose‘s band, that by coincidence happens to share the same name. Hey, they may not have Slash, but they do have like 3 guitarists taking over his role.
According to Ynetnews, Guns N’ Roses will perform two shows in Israel at the end of the year, on December 18 and 19 at the Nokia Arena in Tel Aviv.
XYZ to film an "80's" live DVD
If you’re anything like me, you’ve never heard of the “3-D” band XYZ. And if you’re anything like me, you’re not much of a fan of the 80’s (the aesthetics, to be clear… just look at that photo). So, if you shared my opinion both times, you might as well not read the rest of these news.
’80s rockers XYZ return to Denver after a 17-year absence to play the legendary club Bangles on Friday, October 22. In what promises to be an amazing night, the band has decided to document the evening.
“We will shoot a live DVD and record a live CD that night. XYZ live in Denver. So it’s simple. In order to be ‘in’ that night, you will have to dress up totally ’80’s. It should be a lot of fun. Girls, mini-skirts and white pumps. Guys, well, I don’t know… Hide your beer guts, ha ha”.
Ha ha indeed. Anyway, if they don’t use this unique opportunity of bringing back the 80’s and film the show in 3D, they’ve failed their generation. And this one. More info here.
