Metallica won't stop

With more releases in 2010 than the rest of the ‘Big Four’ in the last decade, Metallica just keep releasing and releasing stuff. This time it’s an EP called “Live At Grimey’s”

The EP includes the nine songs we played the afternoon of June 12, 2008 in the basement at one of the coolest record stores in the nation, Grimey’s in Nashville, Tennessee, and is part of the series of ‘Live At Grimey’s’ releases.

Wow, that sounds about as exciting as hearing your grandma has a new wrinkle on her right breast. Eh, more details after the jump.

Totally amazing Rob Zombie movie

Say what you will about his music career, but as far as his film career goes, Rob Zombie is reinventing himself with each new movie. And by ‘reinventing himself’ I mean doing the exact same thing over and over again. And by ‘movie’ I mean atrocity. So you’ll never guess what kind of movie he’ll direct next.

“The Lords of Salem” is drawn from an idea Zombie had some years back about witches executed in the 17th and 18th centuries who return to Salem, Mass., in the present day.

Wow, witches in the present day, bitches. You thought he was gonna do a sci-fi flick or something. WRONG. It’s a movie about witches. Cancel the upcoming Oscars. I got your Best Picture contender right here.

Limps N' Roses

Everyone’s favorite Nu-Metal band (which is a bit like saying everyone’s favorite child molester, lets be honest), Limp Bizkit recently covered Guns N’ Roses’ Sweet Child O’ Mine at a concert in Moscow, Russia.

The band added their own twist to the song… (Read: Dumbed it down), before breaking into Hot Dog.

Check out the cover after the jump. It’s almost as good as the Axl Rose solo band’s cover (AKA the current lineup of Gun’s N’ Roses). Limp Bizkit don’t walk off stage part of the way through though.

Ronnie James Dio tribute

Tim “Ripper” Owens, of Yngwie Malmsteen and Judas Priest fame, performed a cover of “Children Of The Sea” in tribute to the late Ronnie James Dio.

This took place at Tim’s Bratislava concert, and you can watch a video of it after the jump.

Lombardo speaks

Dave Lombardo finally confirms the rumor about The Big Four tour in the States. And by confirms I mean, just confirms that it’s a rumor and nothing set in stone. He doesn’t know anything, either.

Everybody’s gung-ho for this, including myself. Hey, we’re going to be playing coliseums or two nights at an arena. It’s gonna be huge . . . Some guy said that Metallica is going to join us and do the ‘Big Four’ here in the States. But I don’t know, it could be a rumor. I don’t know for a fact. I never heard anything from management.
