Robert Plant interviewed

Robert Plant was recently interviewed by “Legends of Classic Rock”.  I’m pretty sure that’s a radio station, but to be honest, I don’t really care. I’m not a middle-aged man going through the male menopause, with a sudden interest in old washed-up has-beens.

In defence of Plant though, at least he’s doing what he wants to do, instead of selling himself out for a Led Zeppelin reunion. It’s just a shame the only thing people are interested in, with regards to his music, is a Zeppelin reunion. Apart from me, because I don’t care for that either. Don’t get me wrong, the guys are legends and I love their music, but watching the band perform with zimmer frames, and tuned down by nearly an octave because Robert Plant can’t reach the high notes anymore, is hardly Rock and Roll.

Adult Swim goes metal

Adult Swim, the channel that also brings you Metalocalypse (By the way, Dethklok are back on the air since last week), now hosts a free metal album, including unreleased and rare songs by such artists as Death Angel, Skeletonwitch, Isis, Pelican and 12 other bands.

Sounds pretty sweet, right? Well, it is pretty sweet. Check out the album cover, tracklist and the link to the album after the jump.

Ill Niño are still around

First of all, I’m actually a little bit surprised.  I had no idea this band was still making music.  Ill Niño aren’t that bad of a band or anything, probably one of the better Nu Metal acts to come out in the early 200s.  However, they still were unoriginal, boring, Nu Metal and a Soulfly clone.

They have a new album out, “Dead New World“,  on Oct 26th.  They are on Victory Records, a record label known to sign really lousy bands.

An autographed bike from Judas Priest‘s 2009 “British Steel” 30th-anniversary tour will featured at both the Edmonton and Calgary Tattoo & Arts festivals as part of a custom bike display.

Dave Mustaine is humble

Here’s something I never thought I’d read (let alone write myself): In a recent interview, Dave Mustaine claimed Slayer has the best show and Megadeth just tries to keep up.

What the…? Is this really Dave? Cause usually he’d be like “Yeah, we’re amazing and we pretty much gave birth to metal, the others are just trying to keep up with us, but failing” and then use Metallica’s name to promote his shit and then just deny everything saying he loves everyone, and so on and so forth…

But nowadays Dave is a changed man. Or at least tries to be considering they all want an American Big Four tour… Oh well.
