Damned artwork
I die every time I hear about Anthrax‘s Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano being involved in a supergroup which also consists of one half of Fall Out Boy. That’s just damned sad. But I guess they found some comfort in at least knowing for sure who their singer is. You know, Keith Buckley… I knew this and I didn’t even have to cross-reference and check it several times, which is a luxury both of these guys don’t have back in Anthrax. Anyway, was the humor in this post not bad enough for you so far? It’s okay, because it’s time to throw Conan O’Brien in the mix. Since your head will most likely explode if I continue, let me stop with lame joke attempts (we should leave that to Conan himself now that he has a new job) and explain the missing link between the two.
Remember that infamous “I’m with Coco” picture that stormed the internet right after Conan lost his employment? Well, Mike Mitchell, the guy behind it just announced via Twitter that he will, in fact, be in charge of The Damned Things‘ album artwork. So there’s a slight chance that this album will at least be tolerable to look at, if not to listen to.

Mushroomhead still exist?
Super original masked (face-painted?) Metallers, Slipknot Mushroomhead, have shocked people across the world, by not only showing that they still exist, but that they also have a new album out, titled Beautiful Stories For Ugly Children. Guess it describes Mushroomhead fans perfectly – Not very nice of the ‘shroomyheads to say though. Ouch. The entire album is available for streaming at AOL Music.
Check out the Slipknot Mushroomhead video preview after the jump.
Halford likes cars
Judas Priest legend, Rob Halford, has a brand spanking new album coming out tomorrow (if you’re American that is. If you’re from the rest of the world, it’s probably already out), and once again he has a shit cover for the album. The album is titled Made of Metal, and what better to represent Metal than… NASCAR? What is Halford thinking?
So, should you care? Probably not; it neither has the words Judas nor Priest, in the title, and his last solo effort wasn’t great, so I think I might just give it a miss. At least the man doesn’t need to mask his vocals with horrid chorus and auto-tune effects like another certain Metal legend though *cough* Ozzy Osbourne *cough*
See what the album artwork looks like after the jump (seriously, I wouldn’t bother though).
Big Day Out Lineup
“Tool, Rammstein, Deftones and Wolfmother are among the artists that have been confirmed for the 2011 Big Day Out festival tour of Australia and New Zealand.“
We took the liberty of arranging an unofficial poster for the event. The whole lineup (as of right now) after the kangaroo jump (haha, get it? I crack myself up)
Cliff Burton was an awesome bass player
On this day 24 years ago, Metallica bass player Cliff Burton passed away, at the age of 24.
The band was touring Sweden, their tour bus went over black ice and crashed, causing only minor injuries to the rest of the band, but killing Cliff Burton(although lot of people at the crash scene suspected the driver to have had a few drinks).
If you’re a Metallica fan, I recommend watching Cliff ‘Em All today.
What? Don’t have it? What kind of Metallica fan are you!? It’s ok, go buy it here
