MTV knows good music
The least anticipated music award ceremony of the year, the MTV European Music Awards (or MTV FAG for short) is getting closer and closer. And the nominations are in! Oh golly, my nipples are hard.
Fighting for the Best Rock award are Linkin Park, 30 Seconds To Mars, Kings Of Leon, Muse and Ozzy Osbourne. Wowza!
The early favorites seem to be Linkin Park, of course, because their latest techno album sold quite well. In all fairness to Ozzy though, he would win ‘Best Taxidermy’ in a heartbeat. Maybe next year.
Jaymz always knew he was amazing
This is what James Hetfield, of Metallica, was asked in a recent interview.
“If someone told you 30 years ago that in 30 years time, you would be playing a sold-out concert in Sydney, Australia, what would your reaction be?“
Usually, when asked this bullshit cliché question, the interviewee is supposed to go on a modesty trip and be all “OMG I DO NOT KNOW! I NEVER EXPECTED THIS!” blah blah blah. Not our man Papa Het, though. He’s keeping it real. His answer?
“I would have said, ‘You bet. You bet I am.’ That was it. I was gonna do it.“
So if you were wondering if success and fame changed Metallica, nope, they were always like this.
Aerosmith scare fan into hiding
According to police in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, a 52-year-old man, that actually resembles a child, has gone missing following his attendence at an Aerosmith concert in Vancouver on Thursday, September 16th.
It is thought that the horrid sound of Aerosmith attempting to play live scared the fan away. Or it may have been Steven Tyler’s disformed face that did it. It is not known at this stage why the fan is missing, but I have to say the mere sound of Aerosmith live at this year’s Download Festival was enough to have me running away, fast.
Brian Martin didn’t show up for work the next day, and according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), there are no obvious reasons why he could be missing. If you have any information, you are asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.

Robert Plant is on TV. Allegedly.
Heartbreaker Robert Plant‘s got a whole lotta love for TV, which is his stairway to heaven. (subtle, huh? hugz)
Problem is, nobody wants him, so he’s made up some news on his own. Read this paragraph and tell me if the name of the alleged host doesn’t sound made up.
“Plant will be the featured guest on tonight’s (Monday, September 20) edition of “George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight.” The program, which airs at 11:00 p.m. on CBC in Canada, is hosted by Canadian television and radio personality George Stroumboulopoulos.”
Oh… Okay Robert. We’ll be watching (wink, wink). I hope you’ll catch us on TV as well, we’ll be the main guests on The Tonight Show with Jay Jeakerudoupulouslesuous next week.
Katatonia vs. Thieves
Katatonia, the band named after a lollipop flavor, had some bad luck. Their guitars got stolen.
“Unfortunately the gig reached an all-time low. Two of our guitars got stolen (including the straps and the wireless transmitters), obviously causing performance difficulties, frustration and anger.“
It’s not all bad, though. They had a competition where you could win a guitar and some pickups. Alex has a solution. Enter that competition, win the gear, continue touring.
