A Perfect Circle have a new bassist
A Perfect Circle, the music version of “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” announced a new bass player. We’re not gonna pretend we care and neither should you.
They’ll be on tour soon. If you’re attending, don’t drop the soap.
Metallica still playing in Christchurch
Christchurch, New Zealand sounds like the type of “Location” the Pope would use on Twitter as a joke. Turns out, it’s a real city. A 7.2 earthquake hit the city recently (although I don’t know why it got such a low rating, it’s still a 10 in my book if it hit something with “Christ” in it) and Megadeth fans were happy to speculate that Metallica will not play their scheduled shows there.
Wrong. Lars Ulrich was happy to inform the fans that the lease on his Mercedes is not up yet, so he HAS to make every show, regardless of natural disasters.
“We’re still traveling to Christchurch . . . hope to see YOU there!” is what a recent post on Metallica.com says.
When asked if he hopes for an earthquake during their concert, Dave Mustaine had no comment. He just laughed. Frantically. Fran-tic-tic-tic-tic…
The Return of Helloween
The pioners of power metal are back to release their 13th studo album, “7 Sinners”, on November 9th.
Word on the street is that “7 Sinners” is suppose to be the bands heaviest and fastest album in years. Most bands say that, but you’d have to agree that it could very well be, since their last album, “Gambling With The Devil”, was fantastic from start to finish.
“7 Sinners” track listing:
01. Where The Sinners Go
02. Are You Metal?
03. Who is Mr. Madman?
04. Raise The Noise
05. World Of Fantasy
06. Long Live The King
07. The Smile Of The Sun
08. You Stupid Mankind
09. If A Mountain Could Talk
10. The Sage, The Fool, The Sinner
11. My Sacrifice
12. Not Yet Today
13. Far In The Future
As usual, they have some silly song titles again. Are you Metal? Who is Mr. Madman? You stupid mankind? As I said, nothing new, same lame song titles as expected. It’s all about the “METAL” when it comes to Helloween!
New Soundgarden album
Well, not quite a new album. It’s an album full of unreleased songs . It will include, “Black Rain,” a track they released earlier this year from the 1991 era.
The name of the album is “Telephantasm”, and will be released later this month.
I doubt I will be picking this up. I’d prefer a new studio album from the boys. Oh wait, I forgot how Cornell sounds these days. Forget it.
Incoming: Aliases
For fans of: Sikth / The Dillinger Escape Plan / Protest the Hero / Between the Buried and Me
If ever a band could be criticized for ending too early, Sikth have to be the worst offender. Releasing two albums in their career, The Trees Are Dead & Dried Out Wait for Something Wild (yes, stupidly long title) and Death of a Dead Day, Sikth were way ahead of their time playing a blend of Progressive Math-Metal and Hardcore, now mimicked by a huge swarm of bands today. Both albums were released to universal acclaim, but alas, it was not to be, and in 2007 both vocalists (yup, they had two, they’re just that damn cool huh?) left the band. The band decided to disband a year later after failing to find replacements.
All that aside, it’s time for a new chapter, and ex guitarist Pin (That’s his name? Yeah, don’t ask me) is back with a new band called Aliases, starting where Sikth left off. The first track from the band, We Should Never Have Met, is a perfect blend of Metal brutality, displaying great promise for future music from the band. I for one cannot wait to hear more music. Bring on the album!
