Led Zeppelin reunion is not happening

Above you have an interview with Jason Bonham, who claims a true Led Zeppelin reunion is a ‘dead issue.’ Now, it’s not like we should believe a guy who just happens to be the son of Zeppelin‘s drummer, but it’s definitely not good news for people like me, who really wanted to see that band live.

Let’s hope they change their mind though, and by that I mean, let’s hope someone offers them enough money.

But hey, at least we might get a Black Sabbath reunion, right? And Down are recording vocals for a new album. So it’s not all bad.

GWAR guitar player dies

If you’re a fan of GWAR, then chances are you’ve  already heard that guitarist Cory Smoot was found dead yesterday.

“It is with a sense of profound loss and tragedy that the members of GWAR must announce the passing of their longtime guitarist and beloved friend Cory Smoot, also known to thousands of metal fans worldwide as Flattus Maximus. Cory was found deceased this morning as the band prepared for a border crossing. There is no word as to the cause of death and the members of GWAR are completely shocked and devastated that this has occurred.

“At this point, there is no word on arrangements and the disposition of the remainder of GWAR‘s current North American tour, nor are there any details regarding long-term plans.

“At this point, we are just dealing with the loss of our dear friend and brother, one of the most talented guitar players in metal today.

“We ask that our fans and the media be respectful of our request for privacy for those that have suffered this terrible loss. A full statement will be coming in the next day or so. In the meantime, please give your thoughts and your prayers to Cory, his family, and all the people that love him.”

Now I’m not going to  pretend I was a big  GWAR fan like some would after an artist dies, but I did witness a GWAR show six years ago and it was fantastic.  When seeing  GWAR live , you get an awesome stage show,  slime/fake blood covered on you if you’re in the first few rows, fake weapons involved, violence, and a lot more that I can’t remember because I have bad memory.  Actually, I’m pretty sure I saw some boobies as well.  They just have so much crazy stuff going on.  It’s very entertaining for anyone to see live.

We at Dose Of Metal give our condolences to the family of Cory Smoot and to everyone in GWAR.

Black Sabbath 11.11.11

Eleven eleven eleven. What does it mean? The countdown to the end of the world? Or something even more sinister? Perhaps the date I will finally lose my virginity? Maybe it’s the day when aliens will finally land?

Or is it simply the date Black Sabbath will announce that they’ve reformed as the original lineup?

Yup, I believe my latter guess is the most believable.

Stay tuned to blacksabbath.com for more information, presumably on the 11th November, unless it’s some kind of cruel joke.

(Side note: Why not check out my Top 10 greatest Sabbath albums post? I’m fucking awesome and so is every article I write.)

Megadef release video for Public Enemy No. 1

Why Megadef? Well, you might remember my theory on the death of Tupac Shakur if you follow this site. Thug life, bitches.

I wanted to write a follow up which would deal with Dave’s connections to 9/11 too, but embedding a video from Yahoo has left me no fucking space and it even crashed my Flash plugin. Let’s just remember Dave is an Alex Jones nut, or that’s what he wants you to believe in. #911wasalie #mustainedidit #publicenemyno1

Here’s something that totally justifies Lulu

Is that you, Lulu?

Lou Reed and Metallica have tapped (payed huge amount of money to) Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler, Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream) to direct a video for Iced Honey.

Wow, holy shit you guys… Everything’s so great again! We totally don’t mind Lulu now.

Seriously though, if anything, his style of directing can only enhance the whatever atmosphere the track has. Which I’m afraid isn’t a good thing. To be honest, I still have to listen to the whole album, but if The View’s anything to go by, then all my joking around is totally justified. Speaking of “justified” I’m off to listen to some real music now.
