Guns N’ Roses ain’t dissing you, yo’

Yo yo yo, Blabbermouth have been supplied with a statement from Guns N’ Roses in response to the band performing two hours late at last week’s Rock in Rio festival. In it, the band apologize for their lateness, and emphasise that it is allegedly due to the rain and the festival’s “poor management” that the band took to the stage late, going on to say it was nothing to do with themselves. You can read the full statement below.

Guns N’ Roses would like to set the record straight on Rock In Rio. The festival’s inadequate production and the downpour of rain delayed the event. Anyone who was there knows that System of a Down did not leave the stage until close to 1:15 in the morning. System‘s extensive stage production did not finish coming offstage until 1:45 a.m. GN’R‘s production was up and ready to go at 2:15 a.m. Axl Rose, got to the venue before 1 a.m. and he came ready to go onstage. The inadequate cover of the Rock In Rio stage caused a further delay when the soundboard went down due to water damage and was replaced as quick as possible. GN’R walked onstage at 2:40 a.m. and played for two-and-a-half hours in the pouring rain. GN’R would never seek to intentionally disrespect anyone, especially their fans.”

I guess what the band say could be true, I don’t know – I wasn’t there, but if this were the first time Guns N’ Roses had taken to the stage late, I might be a bit more willing to sympathize with the band. Since it’s about the millionth time, I really don’t know if I completely buy it, or care – for that matter.

Want to hear some Judas Priest songs you’ve definitely heard before?

Judas Priest

You’re lucky then, because AOL is streaming their best of collection “The Chosen Few” at this location. What makes this “special” is that unlike the usual procedure when the band’s staff chooses the songs to go on CD, this time it was the staff of around 15 other bands and musicians that did so, a song each. I smell a PR stunt.

I guess it’s kind of nice. I don’t know. I feel inclined to make fun of these marketing gimmicks, but it’s Judas Priest, so how lame can it be? Make the jump to find out who besides the likes of Corey Taylor and Jonathan Davis also had a say in choosing the songs for this album.

More Lulu up your ass

Did you feel like I felt upon hearing ‘The View’ from Metallica & Lou Reed love-child album? Did you feel the cringe-worthy sadness when you realized that this piece of crap was the single of the new Metallica album? And did you laugh at the countless “I am the table” memes that have smothered the internet ever since its release?

Well, if you hated that, then you will most likely hate the rest of this post. Lou Reed himself has posted a few of the lyrics, that we will be laughing at treated to on the new album. Be warned, though: These lyrics are awful, simply awful. When I heard ‘The View,’ I honestly tried to look at its good points (considering it is a Metallica release, after all), but I simply could not defend that crap!

Anyway, if you want to read some of the new lyrics for the song “Pumping Blood”, including such classic lines as “Waggle my ass like a dark prostitute,” “Oh, ah, ah, ah Jack I beseech you,” and “Like a colored mans dick,” make if the jump. If not, continue watching that porn in the second tab. I got you.

Robb Flynn also got interviewed

Robb Flynn of Machine Head got interviewed by a site called LocalBozo. I got a threat warning when trying to view the original site, so I’m not gonna link it here — I’m sure it’s an error, so no hate towards that site, but I simply can’t risk infecting our readers. Not that I care about their computers, I just think God will punish me for eternity. 🙁

You can listen to the chat above through the magic of embedding, though, because what else am I gonna post on the site today? Metal needs to be revived, yo, there’s barely anything to write about today.

Speaking of Machine Head, they’re on another festival with Limp Bizkit, and yet again, they are below them in the lineup. Haha!

We weren’t around when the drama happened, but Metalsucks were, so you can read about it here (for nostalgia factor, or if you’ve never heard of it).

Bullet For My Interview

Very slow news day, so might as well annoy you guys with a band everyone probably hates: Bullet For My Valentine.

It’s not even with their vocalist, but their bassist, Jason James (sounds like half of 90s Metallica).

Watch the interview above, or don’t. I really don’t care.

Metal world: Wake up!
