6 years ago today, Dimebag Darrell Lance Abbott, guitarist for Pantera and Damageplan was murdered on stage during a Damageplan concert in Columbus, Ohio.
May he rest in peace and what better way to celebrate the life of Dimebag than to spend your day listening to Pantera? None. Getcha Pull!

Tuesday Trivia: Metal is addictive
“No shit, Sherlock,” screams the reader, while some metal tune is blasting out their speaker. You think you’re so tough because you have the latest Slayer album and wear a band t-shirt? There are people in this world who actually claimed (and proved) that they can’t function without metal (and we’re not talking the daily dose of iron you have to take everyday). And there is one country in the world that’s willing to help you out, and even subsidy part of your paycheck. Make a quick guess which country it is, then make the jump.

Have you ever felt lost when it comes to all the genres and subgenres in metal? Never knew the difference between Traditional Doom Metal and Blackened Death Metal? Haha, you suck.

An awesomely named site, Map of Metal, is there to help you out with any doubts you have about a certain genre or historic aspects of metal, using an (you might have guessed it) interactive map in the process. Remember when Judas Priest went to court?
If you’re over the age of 35, chances are you remember that trial from the summer of 1990. Heavy Metal gods Judas Priest were taking to court because two stupid kids thought it would be a cool idea to try and commit suicide. The reason? Because the song “Better By You, Better Than Me“, supposedly had a subliminal message that told them to “do it”. Raymond Belknap successfully killed himself but James Vance actually survived.
Dream Deceivers: The Story behind James Vance VS Judas Priest is a documentary you need to check out, regardless if you’re a Judas Priest fan or not. It basically follows creepy James Vance and his ridiculously religious mom crying how metal music is evil and also thinks teens should not be listening to heavy metal music. The documentary also shows footage from the court room.
