Blast From The Past: Cult of Luna – Salvation (2004)
For fans of: Isis / Neurosis / Callisto / Pink Floyd
Cult of Luna is a Swedish experimental and progressive Post-Metal band. Gaining critical praise for the first two albums, Cult of Luna and The Beyond, it wasn’t until their third album that Cult of Luna really began to push the envelope.

Review: Captain Overboard–Radio Earth! – Captain Overboard–Radio Earth! (2010)
Captain Overboard–Radio Earth! are going to release their selftitled debut album on October 5th of this year.
I’ve had the chance to listen to the album in advance, read on after the jump.
Blitzkritik: Serj Tankian – Imperfect Harmonies
Alright, so you know the score. Blitzkritik means I listen to an album and write the review as I go through it. Fast. To the point. Superficial. Subjective. Lame. Everything a review has to be. Here we go.
I’m not gonna beat around the bush… I’ve always hated Serj, but not necessarily ‘Serj the Musician,’ although he is pretentious and condescending with his music, but mostly ‘Serj, the propagandist.’
I just find it completely lame that he wasn’t born in the United States, but went there as child, met his future bandmates, got rich and famous, and now is criticizing the very country that made it all possible. I have an idea, why don’t you go back to Armenia?
Anyways, he’s released a solo album. Will I like it? Probably not, but who knows?
Blast From The Past: Slayer – South of Heaven (1988)
Ah Slayer, the mighty Thrash legends. You can’t knock them really can you? Well apart from the fact they’ve been writing the same album over and over again for the past 25 years right? To be fair, wrong. In the band’s defence, Slayer have tried a lot of different approaches with their music, although not always as groundbreaking or successful as 1986’s Reign in Blood, many have been fantastic albums in their own right.
Read on to see what I make of Slayer’s South of Heaven, released in 1988.
Blast From The Past: Black Sabbath – Black Sabbath (1970)
Black Sabbath‘s first album Black Sabbath, including the first song Black Sabbath. Innovative. It may not sound innovative but it was.
A lot has been written about Black Sabbath’s debut album, one of the first metal albums, but it hasn’t been given a lot of crap. That’s what we’re here for. Read on after the jump.
