Opeth mainman in new video interview
Fancy taking a trip back in time? Then why not watch the video interview with Opeth frontman Michael Åkerfeldt above. It’s a new interview, but it was taking with such a shitty camera, you’d think it’s 2001 and the first video phone had just come out.
The interview was conducted by Sam “Blammymatazz” Hatch, host of the Hartford, Connecticut metal radio program ‘The House Of Zazz’. In it, Michael discusses the new album, the lack of death growls, as well as some other semi-interesting shit.
Tori Amos challenges metal bands
Singer, Tori Amos is one crazy, crazy lady.
In a recent interview with Spinner.com, Tori randomly laid down a challenge to “the hardest fucking heavy metal band”, but I’m unsure of exactly what the challenge is. She goes on to say she will “them down, alone”. But how Tori? How? Her response?
“Because emotion has power that the metal guys know is just you can’t touch it. Insanity can’t touch the soul. It’s going to win every fucking time.”

Say whaaat? I honestly haven’t got a clue what she is going on about. Besides, why is she talking about souls? I thought gingers’ didn’t have souls? If you do understand her, however, please dial 0845-I-don’t-give-a-crap and leave a message to someone who cares.
Where’s all the metal newz?
I’m serious, where is all the Metal news? Thing seem pretty damn quiet today. What gives? Is Metal hibernating? Is it asleep? Is it drunk and passed out outside a strip joint? Am I drunk and passed out outside a strip joint?
Completely unrelated to this post, is the official video of Shining‘s ‘Förtvivlan, Min Arvedel’ above, purely because it kicks a hell of a lot of ass. Watch it and then surrender yourself to Satan, or something.
Weekly Dose of Metal: Anaal Nathrakh
I first discovered the band Anaal Nathrakh while I was searching for anal porn, having mistyped ‘anal’ as anaal. Although at first I was unamused with my Google screen being filled with “some random band” instead of the hardcore pornography I was in desperate search of, I soon realized that in actual fact, I had discovered one of the most brutal Metal bands around.
Anaal Nathrakh are a two-member, British extreme Metal band, fusing various styles of the genre, including black metal, grindcore, death metal and industrial music. The band formed in 1999 and have since released eight studio albums.
You can listen to the track ‘Virus Bomb’ from the 2007 album Hell is Empty and All the Devils are Here below. I believe it’s about a virus. A virus bomb to be precise.
You can’t polish a cradle of crap
That title above is my abysmal attempt at being funny. However, it just so happens that it’s not quite as bad as Cradle of Filth‘s abysmal attempt at making music, which is also above (but below the abysmal title), along with some stupid costumes.
The above trailer is in promotion of the band’s forthcoming mini-album, Evermore Darkly.
The album contains some new bonus tracks plus a DVD, which contains live footage and a documentary titled ‘You Can’t Polish A Turd, But You Can Roll It In Glitter’.
Expect it to be shit, but if you’re deluded enough to think otherwise, check out Blabbermouth.
