Big 1 + 3 played New York
Last night marked The Big 4 playing the East Coast for the first time, which means I now have to cover it. MetalSucks and Metal Injection did the unthinkable and actually live-blogged a live show, which is kinda lame if you ask me, but then again, I get a free article out of this, so it’s a win for me.
To sum it up: same old same old, Gary Holt instead of Jeff Hanneman, Motorhead‘s Overkill instead of Am I Evil and members of Exodus joining the stage for that performance as well? (and you can see the clip of that above). That is all. We are now anxiously awaiting for The Big Four to announce the first show on the Moon, while this wave is still fresh for riding… Kidding aside, I actually enjoyed the mashup performance a lot, even with 30 people on stage.
I djent djenty djents
Hey look, I just came up with my own verb, adjective and noun, sort of like the people who came up with djent came up with their own genre! #notreally #noonecares #justcallitprogressive
Besides using hashtags in the middle of the post, where they serve #nopurpose, there’s actually something worth reading here: I’ve just found the samples for Animals As Leaders new album, Weightless! (via: ThePRP)
You can listen to them over at Amazon.co.uk, and you can see the album cover after you make the jump.
Want to judge new Tesseract?
Feel particularly bad about yourself today, and can’t wait for an opportunity to lash out at someone, you know, just because? Here’s your chance: last night Elliot Coleman, the new vocalist for Tesseract (the change of which we’ve covered in detail before, so go over the articles), tweeted a clip of the band performing at a recent show in Glasgow.
I’d personally say he sounded prettay good, but then again, I’m feeling awesome (nothing I can do about it, goes hand in hand with being awesome). Don’t let things like what I say and objectivity get in your way though, head over to YouTube and give them an earful! #teamdan
Watch the Behemoth ‘Lucifer’ trailer now
You know, I’ve never quite understood the point of music video trailers. The music video isn’t out yet, but you’re going to release a trailer, to what? Drum up hype? Jeeze, it’s not the next ‘Fight Club’, it’s a damn music video. Just release the video when it’s ready.
Seeing as Behemoth kick a whole lot of ass though, I may just let them off. You can check out the trailer for forthcoming single, ‘Lucifer’, above. It’s ground breaking stuff and caused me to have an epiphany whilst watching it.
The full video will be released later this month. Check out Blabbermouth for more information.
Not again!
How many jokes can we make out of Staind‘s Not Again? Let’s try. They played Jimmy Kimmel Live and you can see the video above. Not again! They also released the making of the last album documentary on YouTube, and you can see that after the jump. Noooo, not again! This morning in the toilet I noticed some weird looking dots on my penis. Not again!
