Megadeth headline Mexican festival

This Friday I made a Top 10 about my favorite live clips from YouTube, and Megadeth‘s Argentinian performance was there. If you watch that clip, you will realize that Latin America loves Megadeth, so maybe it makes sense for them to headline this Mexican festival called ‘Hell & Heaven – Metal Fest 2011.’

It will happen in Guadalajara, Mexico on November 19, and hey, maybe Megadeth can get a Mexican bassist too, just like Metallica!

I keed, I keed, you know I love borderline racist jokes.

Anyway, Fear Factory is also on the bill. Make the jump to see the poster! The official website can be found here.

Tesseract name their new album, will preview new song on tour

Tesseract

The band that seems to be my top ‘posted about’ in the past few weeks (not because I like them, probably because other websites don’t), have named their new album. It’s called Neophobia, and according to a fresh post on their Facebook:

Next album will be called Neophobia. You can hear a track from it whilst we’re on tour this September on the following dates: LONDON 0809| CARDIFF 0909| BIRMINGHAM 1009| MANCHESTER 1109| NEWCASTLE 1209| GLASGOW 1309| LEEDS 1509| SHEFFIELD 1609| NOTTINGHAM 1709 – Tickets will also be available on the door London £11, all others £9.

Well, besides deciding on the worst possible album name amidst a change of the band’s vocalist, the band also evidently figured out how to time-travel. Watch out 12th century Manchester, Tesseract is coming!

Radio, what’s new? Happy birthday Freddie Mercury!

As part of a very exclusive deal Dose of Metal is having with Google Inc. we will occasionally feature Google Doodles  when they’re rock related, just to bring them more hits, and in return Google’s CEO cleans our shoes. If you haven’t seen it already, head over to google.whatever see it above, it’s pretty cool.

On a serious note, let’s get to the real point of this article — today would be late Freddie Mercury’s 65th birthday, so speaking in the name of the whole Dose of Metal crew, we wish he was still around so we could make fun of him congratulate him.

In case you think Queen shouldn’t be mentioned on a metal site, well… you shouldn’t be listening to anything with guitars in it. In the end, make the jump to see the legendary Live Aid performance of their hit Radio Ga Ga, and get reminded of how rock and roll lost 50% of its charisma with Freddie’s passing alone.

Anselmo talks about Vinnie’s ‘redneck hatred’

Phil Anselmo knows how to patch things up with an old friend. It’s common knowledge that saying they’re terrified of you and that they have ‘redneck hatreds’ is gonna bring them all back to you in a split second.

So Phil got interviewed recently, and I simply copy-pasted what I read on Blabbermouth because it just makes my work easier, and it’s not like people don’t already know I’m a ‘hack blogger,’ so let’s get right to it.

Vinnie Paul’s closed-door policy when it comes to me, that’s something he’s gonna have to ride around on his shoulders the rest of his fucking life. I know this: My door is always open, and always has been open — always has been fucking open. And it is a little frustrating when you have a loose end and you’re trying to tighten everything up. But you can’t make everybody fucking happy all of the time — you can’t.

So, Vinnie Paul, he has no effect on my life at all — no effect at all. Good job, I’ll say to Vince — you’ve hurt me. And you keep on hurting me. Great job! Where is it getting you? That’s my question to him. My door has always been wide open, and I’ll leave it at that, because I think everybody else knows the rest. It’s fucking pretty A-B-C simple. He doesn’t want to…

There is a fear in him of me. That motherfucker is so fucking terrified of me. But somewhere within that terror, somewhere within this invented — and I do say ‘invented’ — scapegoat fucking slapping redneck hatred of his, there is a love bigger than any of that fucking shit, and that’s why he’s acting the way he’s acting. So that’s that.

Read full article here. Interview here.

Wow, settle down there Phil. If I wanted to read a novel written by you, I’d pre-order your autobiography.

I do think blaming Phil for Dime’s death is a bit like blaming a surfer for a hurricane. But I remember a time when Dimebag was alive and a certain vocalist was trying to jab both him and Vinnie in the press. But on the other hand, I am positive Dimebag would have forgiven Phil, because he just seemed like a nice guy.

Why am I making assumptions about people I don’t know and scenarios I’ve never been a part of? Because I’m lame, so maybe I should just mind my own fucking business.

Pantera rules, though. \m/

CNN has a lot of credibility

Not only have CNN replaced Larry King with a talent show judge, but now they’re also airing a Kiss special. Way to go, guys.

CNN’s Poppy Harlow goes inside the world of Kiss — on board the band’s plane on the way to a concert, to exclusive backstage access. She also visits the homes of Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley to explore how Kiss has become one of the most branded names in the world.

‘Kiss Inc.’ is scheduled to premiere on CNN Presents on Sunday, October 23 at 8:00 p.m. ET, replaying at 11:00 p.m. ET.

Oh boy, oh boy! I can’t wait!!! [big sarcastic smiley face here]

Seriously, is anyone tuning in? If so, simply stop coming back to this website. That’s an order.
