Rent Metallica for your birthday or Bar Mitzvah
As we told you before, Metallica had to play yet another corporate gig. Why wouldn’t they, Lars had two dollar signs surgically attached to his eyeballs back in 1990.
The video above is from that gig. It’s actually pretty massive, looks like a real concert.
Watch that nerd film the whole thing on an iPad. Doesn’t surprise me, the gig is for a website. I assume they all went for a beer-and-Android-kernel-exchange after the concert.
A Megadeth fan got arrested
It’s nice to know that while drug dealers, pimps, pedophiles, murderers and hip-hop fans roam the streets with no problem, police is pretty vigilant about internet trolls.
“Trevor Fenton and Pat Ryan, hosts of The MeltDown Show on HardRockRadioLive, were taking song requests on Tuesday afternoon when a listener logged into the station’s chat room as, “Watch_The_National_new_tomorrow_I_am_going_to_go_a_shooting_spree_in_Appleton_WI.”
The listener asked the hosts to play “Killing is my business . . . and business is good,” by the American heavy metal band Megadeth, writing that it would be, “good music to go postal & kill a bunce of people to.”
‘We had to take that threat seriously, we couldn’t ignore him. That was something we just couldn’t ignore and not report,” said Ryan. “It could have been a prank. But if he was serious and something happened, I wouldn’t have been able to live with myself.’“

Great job, guys. Another internet nerd is in jail, the world is that much safer now. It’s not like we can be too careful with people who want attention online.
I feel so safe knowing that police will arrest trolls at their first offense. Next stop, Blabbermouth comments.

Weekly Dose of Metal: Hypocrisy
Last week the unthinkable occurred; no ‘Weekly Dose of Metal’ was posted. I know what you’re thinking; “Holy fucking monkey balls!” right? Wait, what’s that, you didn’t even notice? Ah well. You may have also not noticed that I haven’t been too active on the blog recently. Where have I been? No doubt you’d expect me to insert some sort of joke about me discovering a certain porn star and needing a week’s annual leave to masturbate continuously, but that would just be immature wouldn’t it?
If you’re still reading this by now, congratulations, you deserve a medal for deciphering through my poorly written opening paragraph, that has nothing to do with neither Metal nor Hypocrisy. So as a reward, you can listen to the song ‘Deathrow/No Regrets’ (wow, two names? That’s almost as awesome as my two penis’s), taken from the album Into the Abyss, below.
Weightless in November
Last week we got the new Animals As Leaders album title – Weightless – and this week, thanks to ThePRP, we get the release date(s).
The dates are following:
- November 4 (Mainland Europe)
- November 7 (United Kingdom)
- November 8 (Unites States)
The rest of the world can suck it, obviously. Anyway, November is right around the corner, so we can probably expect a single or some previews soon, which is nice.
Interview: Richie Londres (Sol Invicto)
Two weeks ago I covered news of Sol Invicto‘s first EP being released. Little did I know, that the article would attract attention of none other than one of the members of the band, Richie Londres.
Only thing I could do at that moment (besides counting my blessings it wasn’t Stephen who saw it) was to ask for an interview. Richie was once again very cool about it, and as a result, you get quite a read if I may say so. We talked about a lot of things, from Sol Invicto, metalheads’ point of view on electronic music, trends in music and music industry, to me not being able to visit the West Coast any more without looking over my shoulder.
All in all, you’re up for a treat, so make the jump.
