Another Dave McClain video interview
Yesterday we posted a video interview with Dave McClain. You can view another video of McClain above.
In this video, McClain shoots his way through a building, killing terrorists and saving hostages. It’s gripping stuff.
Apologies, that’s actually the plot to ‘Die Hard’ (at least I think it is, my mom only lets me watch PG-13 films). John McClane Dave McClain is the drummer of Machine Head, he probably actually speaks about the new album, Unto Locust, and it probably isn’t as exciting as ‘Die Hard’. By now I’m assuming you’ve already clicked play and know what the interview is about though, so I figured it would be pointless telling you what he says (read – I didn’t watch it).
Dave Mustaine’s favorite Metallica song is…
… Who cares?
But if you do care, check this out:
“I had to do a lot of coming to terms with myself in order to listen to Metallica. Before, whenever I heard them, it triggered me in my mind to get up on my soapbox and spit out complaints of what had happened to me. And then once I finally realized, ‘Dave, you’re lucky, you’re blessed, you’re in a great band, you’re in another great band.’ I finally just said, ‘You’re missing it.’
And I remember hearing this song when I was talking to Lars once and telling him this is my favorite song off the ‘Black Record.’ And he goes, ‘Really? Fuck, man.’ It was ‘The Unforgiven’. I liked it because I thought this was really the first time I’ve ever really heard James sing. He had sung before, and he was a great singer. But that was the first time I ever heard him really, really sing.“

Actually, Dave did talk about liking Unforgiven a lot, there’s an old interview of him where he’s imitating Lars and you can watch it right here. Even though I also remembered the video, I have to credit Blabbermouth user IMNoMoreLies for also mentioning it and providing the link, that way I didn’t have to go look for it.
Tony Iommi comments on reunion rumors
According to the official Black Sabbath Facebook page (Ozzy knows how to use a computer? bands from the 60’s have Facebook?), the legendary guitarist, Tony Iommi, has commented on the rumors that have spread around the internet today in regards to a Birmingham newspaper claiming the band had reformed (click for more).
Tony has said the following:
“I’m saddened that a Birmingham journalist whom I trusted has chosen this point in time to take a conversation we had back in June and make it sound like we spoke yesterday about a Sabbath reunion.
Thanks to the internet it’s now gone round the world as some sort of “official” statement on my part, absolute nonsense. I hope he’s enjoyed his moment of glory, he won’t have another”
Wait… So the band are or aren’t reuniting?
Diamond Head hearts Metallica
I don’t know what it is these days, a few years ago it was pretty standard slamming Metallica in the press. Now they seem to get mostly positive comments and praises. I wonder why that is. Actually, no I don’t, I honestly don’t care.
But Diamond Head are always credited with influencing Metallica a lot, Lars always praises them, blah blah, so the band is grateful that they’re getting so much attention from the four horsemen:
“I think without Metallica coming along and covering our songs, and giving us a leg up to reform and things, we may have just faded away like a hundred of other New Wave of British Heavy Metal bands. We may have got the odd little mention here and there, but I think without Metallica’s help, we would not have survived to this day.“

Aww, look at all the metal love and the British and American bands getting along. I’m actually a bit annoyed by this, a positive comment on a band is pretty boring for me to write, and probably even more boring (or is it boringer? Fuck you, what am I, Shakespeare?) for you to read. Where’s all the “Fuck those guys!!!” hate?
Nowadays the only metal hostility is on Blabbermouth and YouTube. If those trolls also start getting along, we might just have to start listening to Justin Bieber.
Kiss won’t kiss MJ goodbye
It was reported that Kiss would be part of a Michael Jackson tribute concert, but we didn’t post about it because we had better stuff to do…
But now it’s being reported that Kiss got kicked out of the gig, and we’re writing about it because, well, we’re lame and hypocritical. Apparently fans ratted Gene out:
“We have listened to Michael’s fans and are grateful to have been alerted to these unfortunate statements by Gene Simmons. Under the circumstances we fully agree that even though Kiss is a band Michael admired we have no choice but to rescind our invitation to them to appear in our tribute concert.“

So a couple of MJ fanboy snitched to the promoters that Gene actually called Michael a pedophile, so they gave him the boot. That’s pretty awesome… To be fair, I really don’t care about this story at all, so I have nothing else to add.
There are a few child puns I could try but let’s not get carried away here.
