Fourth Metallica anniversary night – the recap

So the fourth and final anniversary show has been recapped by Metallica in a 45 minute video. You can see Dave Mustaine jam along with the guys and alongside their first and second bassists — Rob McGovney and Jason Newsted.

Jason even sings during “Seek & Destroy,” reminding me why I miss him so much as ‘Tallica‘s bassist.

Pretty good video, some of my friends went to these shows and said they had a blast. They have another recap online, by the way, in case you forgot.

Sadly, Metallica hasn’t formally invited me to this event to document it for DoM, so I haven’t gone. Maybe on their 40th birthday.

Oh by the way, remember Beyond Magnetic? You know, the digital release that sold twice as much as Lulu? They’re releasing it as a CD on January 31, probably just to spite Lou Reed.

Napalm Death frontman interviewed

Napalm Death frontman, Barney, has perhaps one of the most un-metal names around. Then again, his real first name is Mark, which is also my name, so he must be pretty awesome. Plus, we’ve interviewed him too before, so that makes him very awesome.

Anyways, Barney has been interviewed for the latest episode of ‘The Governor’s Ball’ and you can listen to the audio clips over at Blabbermouth.

We’re back.ca

So we’re back. Well, I’m back, anyway. What better way to start the year than to make fun of a band I’ve never heard of.

Get this… There’s a band from Canada named Automan.ca. Yes, they chose a domain name for a band name. What the…?

Why on Earth would you choose a domain name? And why would you stop at the domain name? Just go full URL on the bitch. My new band is gonna be called “http://www.autoguy.com/index.html.”

What’s next, YouTube urls? I’m starting a band called “youtube.com/watch?v=5EsLfenryhA”

Not to be completely assholish, since we made fun of mentioned these guys, might as well plug their shit. Their new album will be released on February 14, you have more info on Blabbermouth and their official site. Guess what their site’s URL is.

Second post of 2012

It’s January 1st and yes, this is an automated post. I felt bad for not making any special posts for Christmas, and I was way too lazy to make any posts for NYE, so I just wrote this one out of boredom.

So, 2011 is over, eh? Fuck that year, 2012 is our last year according to Mayans (and probably Dave Mustaine, since the guy seems to believe in anything, really). So let’s make it count.

If you woke up next to a fat, ugly woman (or man), feel better, at least it wasn’t your hand. Now get rid of that hangover and start the year LIKE A BAWSSS.

Dose of Metal wishes you a happy new year filled with sadness, emotional distress, loud music, loads of beer, and anything else you sad fuckers enjoy.

Happy New Year, fuckers!

Happy New Year mother truckers!

What a year, huh? Our first ‘full year’ of running DoM. We started in late 2010 so 2011 was the first year we started from scratch. And now it has ended.

Don’t worry, we have a life, this post was scheduled for 12.00 am, January 1st — New York City time. If you’re reading this right at the moment of being posted, you either:

a) have no life and are stuck on the internet on NYE, which sucks for you. haha.
b) have some sort of life and are reading this on a phone, or at a computer at a party.
c) a mixture of both (like, you know, you’re home but pretending you’re at a party with a hot chick)

Either way, happy new year. We hope to make 2012 as interesting as 2011 in terms of metal blogging, but let’s face it, we probably won’t.

Anyway, get drunk, get laid, start shit, get arrested, basically have a good time. I’ll schedule another post after this one, just so you have something to read, loser…
