Time for some fine Hungarian metal
The video above showcases one of the Hungarian artists I love most, namely Leander. The song is easily recognizable, “Szomoru Vasarnap”, although many of you might know it as “Gloomy Sunday”. Kudos to Attila “Mowgli” Voros, who fulfills the duties of live guitar playing for Nevermore.
Them Crooked Vultures can cause ear problems
Them Crooked Vultures is the perfect example of how supergroups don’t work. Having a few awesome musicians together doesn’t guarantee great material.
I love Zeppelin, like QOTSA and can tolerate The Foo Fighters, so when I heard about this band a few years ago I said ‘AWESOME!’. But then I heard their album…
Well, someone who attended one of their shows got tinnitus from it — then killed himself. I am really tempted to insert a joke here, but it’s not really funny, is it?
“A rock music fan apparently took his life after battling to get treatment for debilitating tinnitus, an inquest heard yesterday. Father-of-two Robert McIndoe, 52, was unable to sleep for three months after attending a concert that left him with a permanent ringing in his ears.“

You know what, that’s pretty sad. There’s nothing worse than having medical problems that prevent you from sleeping, must be very frustrating. Oh, and my ears ring after every concert, now I’m gonna be paranoid all the time while the ringing lasts. “Will it go on forever???”
R.I.P. to the guy and best of wishes to his family. I hope we can all learn from his mistake — Do not see this band live.
Friday Top 10: Black Sabbath songs (original lineup)
It’s official, the original lineup has reformed, back to do it all — world tour, new album and destroy all that is not Metal. 2012 will no doubt be a fantastic year for meatheads metalheads like me.
Not long ago I counted down the top 10 Sabbath albums, and now, hot off the news that the original lineup are back, it seems like the perfect time to list the top 10 Black Sabbath songs, only this time I’m going to keep it strictly to songs by the original lineup. It just makes sense.
So what are you waiting for? Hurry up and make the jump!
Rihannica
Rihanna sucks. She doesn’t just suck though, she really sucks (although I wouldn’t complain if she were to suck… never mind). If you like Rihanna, you probably have the taste of a dead corpse (yes, as opposed to those live corpses you sometimes see). Honestly, the day she stops releasing music would be a great day indeed.
By now, you’re probably wondering what Rihanna has to do with metal. Well, it turns out she has sampled some of Metallica‘s ‘Whereever I May Roam’ for her new song, ‘Red Lipstick’, which is just horrendous. First we have to listen to Lou Reed mumbling senile crap over the top of Metallica, and now we have to listen to Rihanna whining over some ‘Tallica riffs. Is nothing sacred?
