Beecher reform
Another year goes by, and another band announces they will reform.
This time, it’s not a big name, not like System of a Down‘s planned comeback, but it is one you should make note of, particularly if you haven’t heard of Beecher before (and no, I’m not talking about Henry Ward Beecher).
Beecher were a unique Progressive Metal band from the UK, sounding something like if Between the Buried and Me, Sikth, and Pitchshifter had a three way orgy, and Beecher was the bastard child born from the sick love-fest. The band released two full-length albums during their career — 2003’s Breaking The Fourth Wall and 2005’s This Elegy, His Autopsy. Both albums were met with critical acclaim, but unfortunately the band split right when they were starting to make a name for themselves.
Beecher released the following statment:
“Summer 2011 sees the 10-year anniversary of the start of Beecher. We disbanded suddenly, during our most active period, playing just one ‘goodbye’ gig, at which more than 100 fans of the band were rejected at the doors of the already over-capacity venue. Having had five years of reflection time, and considering the aforementioned fact that our tenth birthday is fast approaching, we have decided to reform, playing a handful of shows over the course of 2011 — the first of which will take place on April 29th at the Star & Garter, in our hometown of Manchester. The rest are as-of-yet unconfirmed.”
