Ozzy has a bucket list
Metal legend and bat aficionado Ozzy Osbourne has one big item on his bucket list…
“I often get asked this question: ‘Will there ever be a [new Sabbath] album?’ One thing I can say for definite [is] we are all talking, we are all friends. But it’s been 30 years since we did a studio album — if it’s not something extra, extra special, the people are gonna go, ‘We waited 30 years [for this…]’ But before my life’s over, I would love… my dream is to do the ultimate Black Sabbath album; I would love to do that.“
Listen to the interview here.
Wait… Ozzy was in Black Sabbath? WTF?
Metal Trek
Fantastic news for “Trekkies” and not so much Metal fans this week. Star Trek actor, William Shatner will be covering Black Sabbath‘s Iron Man on his upcoming album, with Zakk Wylde providing the riffage.
I’ve got to be honest, I had no fucking idea that Shatner was recording an album. And I would have liked to keep it that way. Now my day is ruined. Want your day ruined too? Read more here.
Dose for Sunday
So, today is Sunday, ‘the day of rest,’ God day if you will, but to me, and many others, Sundays just plain suck. It’s the day you do nothing, just waiting for Monday to come when you have to go back to work, to work a job you hate in order to buy the crap you don’t need.
Have you been to church? No? Well good, fuck that, and welcome to Metal church. Here’s just 5 songs to get you in a better mood, ready for work tomorrow. Check out my 5 songs after the jump.
Black Sabbath’s Christmas message
Black Sabbath, or the two parts that make it, Ozzy on one side, and the three guys on the other side, have separately released their Christmas message to the followers of the band.
Speaking on behalf of Heaven & Hell and/or Black Sabbath, Tony Iommi thanked their fans:
“I want to thank you all for your brilliant support in what has been a difficult year.
I wish you all a Happy Christmas and a 2011 in which you achieve something you’re working towards.
See you at a show soon.”
Ozzy on the other hand took a more critical approach, in his weekly Sunday Times column. He is a journalist after all, right?
“All this ’10 more shopping days to go’ bullocks is such a wind-up. I ain’t exactly Mr. Holy, but what’s that got to do with Baby Jesus being born?… The faster we get to New Year’s Day 2011, the better.”
…said Ozzy, while counting the money he made from advertising iced tea.
Black Sabbath news
Well, only 50% of the post title is true. It is news, but it regards a 40 year old song. According to The Metal Den, they have obtained what they believe is one of the earliest and rarest bootleg recording of “Hand of Doom,” back from 1970. The details of whereabouts and the exact date of the recording are unknown, but the quality is pretty good. So, that’s the Black Sabbath tidbit for today. Expect more news in 2012, and hopefully Dr. Ozzy‘s tips pay off so we might actually see these guys breathing then.
