Dave Mustaine was fueled by hatred
If you ever wondered what made Dave Mustaine so creative during Megadeth‘s first years, wonder no more. Chris Poland comes with the answer. Hint: It’s very predictable.
You really have to give Dave credit. Dave wrote a lot of the material. It came from his… He was fueled by hate for Metallica, so that added that extra angst to what we were doing. It was perfect timing and like you said, the chemistry was right.
This is why I’ve always said Dave being kicked out of Metallica was the best thing to ever happen to us. We got two great bands out of it. Can you imagine Dave practicing guitar?
“MUST. BE. FASTER. THAN. KIRK!!!”

Dave Mustaine talks to Alex Jones
That’s all I have to say, really. The title says it all. When Dave talks to someone like Alex Jones, you just know it’s gonna be a discussion of bogus stories like conspiracies, black magic, or religion.
See the clip above and see if I’m right.
Dave Mustaine says Metallica jam was ‘magical’
As we all know, Dave joined Metallica on stage at their 30th anniversary shows… Dave seems very happy about that, since he keeps saying how great it was. Which is cool, considering the way he talked about Metallica a few years ago…
“I think you can see from the way the guys lit up that it was mutually beneficial for everybody. We all expected something magical to happen, and it did. We were playing stuff off the first record that I’d written in my teenage years. It was a blast.”

Aww, Dave is in love. <3
Mustaine Spitz Metal
Remember Red Lamb? Well, their album is finally out. Seems like Mustaine’s only been co-producing and writing some music and lyrics, but anyhow, you can check it out here. That’s it for now, kthxbye.
Fourth Metallica anniversary night – the recap
So the fourth and final anniversary show has been recapped by Metallica in a 45 minute video. You can see Dave Mustaine jam along with the guys and alongside their first and second bassists — Rob McGovney and Jason Newsted.
Jason even sings during “Seek & Destroy,” reminding me why I miss him so much as ‘Tallica‘s bassist.
Pretty good video, some of my friends went to these shows and said they had a blast. They have another recap online, by the way, in case you forgot.
Sadly, Metallica hasn’t formally invited me to this event to document it for DoM, so I haven’t gone. Maybe on their 40th birthday.
Oh by the way, remember Beyond Magnetic? You know, the digital release that sold twice as much as Lulu? They’re releasing it as a CD on January 31, probably just to spite Lou Reed.
