No he didn’t!
Every Time I Die‘s Keith Buckley has decided to downplay his online social presence. How? By writing War & Piece Pt. 2 on his blog. Seriously dawg, it’s called a paragraph, it wouldn’t kill you to use it every now and then.
I couldn’t read through everything because my eyes started to bleed after a while, but here’s an excerpt:
On January 1st I went dark. I cancelled my Instagram account and while not deleting my Facebook or Twitter entirely, (I’m not crazy, its hard to get verified) I removed the apps from my phone insuring that I wouldn’t be tempted to race to them when inspiration or boredom or apathy struck. I intended to give myself one week. Seven days to wrangle myself from the meretricious carnival that social networking had become, at least amongst those who I volunteered to network with.
I wont name specific names, though I have no doubt that anyone reading this will find the description applicable to a number of acquaintances, and if so, I only hope that you too can muster the strength to put your desire to be happy before your fear of offending and cut them off like the unnecessary appendage that they actually have become.
For most, this is overkill. The majority of those on Twitter or Facebook are probably only giving a cursory glance to a post about someone’s child or a scan of a Polaroid on Flashback Fridays or a tweet to a mutual friend of an inside joke before dismissing them as boring or funny or whatever and then returning to their own lives as it exists in the current moment.
I could now play smart and throw big words around too (could I?), but I don’t have sand in my vagina. Nor a vagina. Instead, a personal observation, the timeline feature makes Facebook kind of look like Myspace, don’t it?
Tour story, bro — Every Time I Die writing a book
Aaaah, the wonders of the internet. The most advanced technology in communication the world has seen, spent on countless hours of arguing about which operating system is better and which Metallica album is the worst.
Where was I? Oh yeah. If you follow Keith Buckley and Every Time I Die camp on Twitter, you might remember their hashtag meme #tourstories, which they’ve used to crowd source the most interesting fan submitted tour moments (dropping some new media terminology up in this bitch yo), and according to band’s recent tweet, they are turning it into a book.
remember #tourstories? its now becoming a book. send your story to @_tourstories to be a part of the next true great american masterpiece
The band promised to review everything submitted, and the most interesting stories might get a full page interview along with the 140 character tweet.
There you have it, if you ever wanted to be a part of an internet meme, in an old school book format (paper and shit), this is the perfect opportunity to contribute. Photos of the tweets can be found after the jump.
The Damned Things posted a new song online
Two weeks before their debut album is about to… debut, The Damned Things have posted a new song called “Little Darling” online. I thought they’d do some more promotion (like a video) since the release date is so close, but I guess they don’t give a shit about videos. Neither do I. Or they think Anthrax, Every Time I Die and Fall Out Boy fanbase’s word of mouth is enough of a promotion. I don’t know, I’m not a music industry analyst. All I know is that there was a time when the word of mouth of those three bands in the same sentence would grant you a foot in mouth.
Go here to listen to the song.
Every Time I Joke Around
Whoa…looks like Every Time I Die got themselves in a little mess.
They basically made some fake “RT” Tweets from various famous celebrities. The whole point of this joke was to promote their upcoming new album “New Junk Aesthetic”/Shit Happens: The Series?“(wow, what a really stupid title) and now it seems Every Time I Die are in legal trouble because of the silly joke.

The Damned Things. Ironic.
The Damned Things have named their new album! Wanna know the name? Good luck you’re reading our site then. It’s Ironiclast. Personally, I think Ironic would have sufficed in many ways, but who are we to point fingers and laugh? Don’t answer that.
