Even DJ Ashba wants an original GNR reunion

Current Guns N’ Roses guitarist, DJ Ashba (lol he’s a DJ), recently spoke to Tree Riddle of Flint, Michigan radio station Banana 101.5 Rocks.

An excerpt from the chat can be found below:

Banana 101.5 Rocks: Guns N’ Roses is nominated for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame this year and there is a lot of talk about an original lineup reunion. Usually Axl doesn’t address that topic out of respect for you guys because he is happy with the band he has now — but if a reunion did happen, would you be offended?

Ashba: No, not at all. I get asked that a lot and my honest opinion is that I don’t ever foresee that happening, to be honest, just from what I know. But I would be the first person in line to buy a ticket, that’s for sure. So I have no problem with it whatsoever.

Dizzy Reed will make you too dizzy to read

If you ever wondered if it’s silly to blame Guns N’ Roses for making their fans wait a few hours before they take the stage, well, GNR keyboardist Dizzy Reed thinks it’s silly that people worry about that stuff.

“It is silly. It’s a rock and roll concert, for Christ’s sake!“

Exactly, Dizzy, exactly. It’s a fucking rock concert, not child birth. You are not supposed to wait that long, you go there, see the band, leave.

But hey, don’t want to give Dizzy too much shit, he’s obviously not the reason for the band’s tardiness, but it feels a bit disrespectful playing it off like it doesn’t mean anything — it does, people are tired and want to go home, maybe they even have work the next day. Respect them!

Another Friday, another Top 10. Except this one is the same as the last one.

Well, kind of. Continuing from last time, we take a look at ten more examples of band transformations we could have lived without. Note that the list is not really in a particular order, and then make the jump.

Guns N’ Roses ain’t dissing you, yo’

Yo yo yo, Blabbermouth have been supplied with a statement from Guns N’ Roses in response to the band performing two hours late at last week’s Rock in Rio festival. In it, the band apologize for their lateness, and emphasise that it is allegedly due to the rain and the festival’s “poor management” that the band took to the stage late, going on to say it was nothing to do with themselves. You can read the full statement below.

“Guns N’ Roses would like to set the record straight on Rock In Rio. The festival’s inadequate production and the downpour of rain delayed the event. Anyone who was there knows that System of a Down did not leave the stage until close to 1:15 in the morning. System‘s extensive stage production did not finish coming offstage until 1:45 a.m. GN’R‘s production was up and ready to go at 2:15 a.m. Axl Rose, got to the venue before 1 a.m. and he came ready to go onstage. The inadequate cover of the Rock In Rio stage caused a further delay when the soundboard went down due to water damage and was replaced as quick as possible. GN’R walked onstage at 2:40 a.m. and played for two-and-a-half hours in the pouring rain. GN’R would never seek to intentionally disrespect anyone, especially their fans.”

I guess what the band say could be true, I don’t know – I wasn’t there, but if this were the first time Guns N’ Roses had taken to the stage late, I might be a bit more willing to sympathize with the band. Since it’s about the millionth time, I really don’t know if I completely buy it, or care – for that matter.
