Iron Maiden announcement

British legends, Iron Maiden, are making a special UK announcement on the 11th November at 12pm (UK time… obviously!)

Oh my, what could it be? Could it be they’re announcing the second coming of Christ? (Hint – seems very unlikely) Could it be they’re headlining next year’s Download Festival? (Hint – doubtful) Or could it be that they will be announcing a UK tour for next year? (Hint – much more likely)

Bruce gets nominated

Musicians and actors love it when they win awards. Imagine winning an Emmy or an Oscar… Or a Grammy, a Golden Globe, hell, even an MTV Award.

But nothing says “Outstanding work in music” quite like a “Face of Travel 2010” award.

“Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson is among the favorites to win the World Travel Awards “Face of Travel 2010”. The award acknowledges the celebrity endorsement that has made the biggest contribution to the travel and tourism industry over the past year. Also nominated are Arnold Schwarzenegger, David Beckham, Kevin Spacey, Usain Bolt, Rafael Nadal and Kevin Costner.”

Iron Maiden is being cryptic

You know what that thing above is? It’s on Iron Maiden‘s official website. OMG!!!! A special announcement to be made this Tuesday. WOWSA!! What could it be, what could it be????

“British heavy metal legends Iron Maiden have posted a new graphic on their official web site (see below) of the band’s mascot, Eddie, holding the Earth in his right hand with the main focus being the region between Asia and Australia, fueling speculation that the band will officially confirm previously rumored tour dates in Indonesia and surrounding countries.“

Well, did they really need to make such a big deal out of this since the rumors have been posted quite a while ago? I guess not, but good news for the people living in that area…

Bruce doesn't sing for charity

What’s that Brucey? You’re not going to sing for charity? Why you heartless bastard!

Eh? Not quite, because the Iron Maiden frontman, Bruce Dickinson, will in fact be “appearing” on a new charity single to raise money for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. Just don’t be expecting to hear Dickinson’s legendary vocals on the song, because the single and accompanying video, 2 Minute Silence, both do exactly what they say on the tin. That’s right, it’s just two minutes of silence… Erm yay.

Quite why it takes professional musicians to record two minutes of silence, is beyond me. I could do that right now, in my bedroom, upload it to the internet and ask people for donations for the charity.

Hallowed Be Thy Tour

Iron Maiden will play anywhere. You got a place where ED FORCE ONE can land? They’re there. The plane can’t land? They’ll probably just skydive right over the venue and land backstage. There’s just no stopping them.

“British heavy metal legends Iron Maiden will perform in the Indonesia cities of Jakarta and Bali in February 2011, a local promoter said on Sunday. The Jakarta show will likely take place on either February 17 or February 18, with the Bali concert to follow two days later.“
