Revolver has a cover full of rock legends — and Jonathan Davis
Hey, nice picture, right? Bet you never expected such a tall fucking photo on a post here, did you?
Anyway, Revolver decided to draw a lot of important metal legends on their new cover — then decided ‘fuck it, let’s also thrown in someone who is nu-metal for the lulz.’
Seriously, what is Jonathan Davis doing in front of Ozzy and Hetfield? That’s like Time magazine doing a ‘People of the year’ cover with Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and The Situation.
Also, how come some of them are perfectly drawn, but others look nothing like whoever they’re supposed to be? Check out Anselmo (left, right behind Ozzy). The fuck?
This issue of Revolver is out now, and it has the ‘100 Greatest Living Rockstars’ list which will probably disappoint all of us. And if it says ‘living,’ why the fuck is Ozzy on it?
Life is full of mysteries.
Jonathan Davis hearts dubstep
We’re huge dubstep-heads here at Dose of Metal, as you must know. Just this morning I made a new song under my dubstep persona (Simmex), it’s fucking awesome and it goes something like “wubwubwubwubwubwub rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr wubwubwubwubwubwub zzzzzzzzzaaaaaoooooooo wubwubwubwubwubwubwub wubwubwubwubwubwub.”
You can’t imagine the joy of me having found this interview with Korn‘s Jonathan Davis, where he explains how their new dubstep/numetal album came to be, the process of it all and shit. It’s gonna influence me so much as an artist. wubwubwubwubwubwubwub
All jokes aside, if you’re the typical metalhead, you probably stopped reading after “Jonathan Davis,” but if you’re in the small crowd that enjoyed Get Up (but probably hated the other song), you might find it interesting, because he explains he wanted to keep the final product 50% electronic, 50% Korn, and 100% you know what. At least they’re not going all dubstep, if that’s any comfort, so you might give the album a shot after all.
Great way to end the weekend
I can’t think of a better way to end my weekend than by listening to Jonathan Davis. Honestly. It’s the best thing ever! (right next to inserting needles up my dick)
So this weekend kicks ass cause Mr. KoRn himself decided to upload some solo tracks. Ain’t that sweet?
If you’re like me and you fancy your ears bleeding on a Sunday evening, make the jump and listen to these wonderful songs. Or have some musical fucking integrity and completely skip this post.
For an added bonus, you can also read comments left by Korn fans. Expect a lot of thoughts on pickup trucks and Nascar.
Old freak on a leash
Jonathan Davis, the nu-metal version of Tobias Fünke, turned 40 today. Ah, he’s all grown up now. Seems like only yesterday he was on MTV, brainwashing little kids into thinking Korn are actually metal.
Well, happy birthday Mr. Davis. Have a good one. Thanks for founding one of the best genres out there and here’s to another 40 years of musical genius.
