The Chosen Few sells 1,300
Selling just 1,300 copies in its first week in the United States, it seems it was only a chosen select few that were interested in Judas Priest‘s The Chosen Few.
Maybe people just didn’t give a shit what Jonathan Davis’ (*cough* PA’s) favorite Judas Priest song is?

Judas Priest rock North America
Judas Priest kicked off their North American tour last night as part of their famous farewell (but not quite farewell) tour. Footage of the band performing ‘Living After Midnight’ at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, can be viewed above.
The setlist and shit can be found at Blabbermouth.
Want to hear some Judas Priest songs you’ve definitely heard before?
You’re lucky then, because AOL is streaming their best of collection “The Chosen Few” at this location. What makes this “special” is that unlike the usual procedure when the band’s staff chooses the songs to go on CD, this time it was the staff of around 15 other bands and musicians that did so, a song each. I smell a PR stunt.
I guess it’s kind of nice. I don’t know. I feel inclined to make fun of these marketing gimmicks, but it’s Judas Priest, so how lame can it be? Make the jump to find out who besides the likes of Corey Taylor and Jonathan Davis also had a say in choosing the songs for this album.
As I Lay Dying Cover 3rd Best Judas Priest song
Metalcore act As I Lay Dying recently recorded and released a classic Judas Priest song. The song they covered was ‘Electric Eye’ and it will be appearing on As I Lay Dying‘s upcoming album, Decas, which looks to be full of remixes and cover songs.
If you’re interesting for the stream and for other information regarding the upcoming As I Lay Dying release, then check out Blabbermouth.
As for my opinion on the actual song, well… let’s just say I’d rather have a picture of Susan Boyle fully nude, tattooed on the inside of my eyelids for a day, than listen to As I lay Dying cover ‘Electric Eye one more time or anything else from their upcoming release. My god, that was awful.

Friday Top 10: Best Judas Priest songs
If you’re a loyal reader of Dose of Metal, then you know one of our most exciting aspects of this site is our very own Friday Top 10. When composing a top 10 list for bands, we feel we’ve covered the most important bands ever: Metallica, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, and most recently, Black Sabbath. That being said, it would only make sense to include a certain band from Birmingham, England, to that list.
Regardless if you like them or not, Judas Priest are one of the greatest and most influential metal bands of all time. Fact. Rob Halford and the boys formed in 1969 and since have released 16 albums (7 or 8 of them are ranked absolute classics in the metal world).
Feel free to complain about ‘Breaking The Law,‘ ‘You’ve Got Another Thing Comin,‘ and other songs not making the list. Positive or negative comments are always welcomed here at Dose of Metal, so bitch post away!
Okay, it’s that time again! So, make the jump….
