Friday Top 10: Heaviest albums of all time
Just a couple of weeks ago, the UK’s Kerrang magazine counted down their top 10 heaviest albums of all time. The thing is with Kerrang’s list, though, was I just couldn’t really agree with it. I mean they had The Beatles in the top 10! It was obvious the list was a bit of a joke, so I decided I would put together my own top 10. A top 10 that was just a bit more credible, serious, and would appeal more to so called “real” metalheads.
So to the elite, for real fans of Metal, this top 10 is for you. I hope ya’ll enjoy it, yo.
Don’t shoot the messenger: Korn have a new song out
*wubwubwub zzzzzzzzzzzz wubwubwub rrrrrrraaaaaaooooooo*
Jonathan Davis hearts dubstep
We’re huge dubstep-heads here at Dose of Metal, as you must know. Just this morning I made a new song under my dubstep persona (Simmex), it’s fucking awesome and it goes something like “wubwubwubwubwubwub rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr wubwubwubwubwubwub zzzzzzzzzaaaaaoooooooo wubwubwubwubwubwubwub wubwubwubwubwubwub.”
You can’t imagine the joy of me having found this interview with Korn‘s Jonathan Davis, where he explains how their new dubstep/numetal album came to be, the process of it all and shit. It’s gonna influence me so much as an artist. wubwubwubwubwubwubwub
All jokes aside, if you’re the typical metalhead, you probably stopped reading after “Jonathan Davis,” but if you’re in the small crowd that enjoyed Get Up (but probably hated the other song), you might find it interesting, because he explains he wanted to keep the final product 50% electronic, 50% Korn, and 100% you know what. At least they’re not going all dubstep, if that’s any comfort, so you might give the album a shot after all.
Friday Top 10: Worst band transformations, part 2
Another Friday, another Top 10. Except this one is the same as the last one.
Well, kind of. Continuing from last time, we take a look at ten more examples of band transformations we could have lived without. Note that the list is not really in a particular order, and then make the jump.
Weak Recap: Metalheads Anonymous
Hello and welcome to your daily MA meeting here at Dose of Metal. We are here to guide you, through group therapy sessions, from music for posers to music for true metalheads. Metalheads Anonymous is the only way to turn you into a headbanging, beer-drinking metal elitist.
The first item on the MA agenda is the weekly Weak Recap. If you want to look forward to become a metalhead, you have to look in the past how the metalhead elite has done it. And let’s face it, there is no better place to learn of metal than at Dose of Metal.
So let’s get it started, shall we? Go ahead and make the jump.
