A few interviews

Aaron Lewis (Staind)

Wouldn’t it be fun to read and see a shitload of interviews? Yes? It’s your lucky day:

Megadeth‘s drummer (too lazy to check for the name and you probably don’t care) checked into a drum clinic. So many sick drummers today. See what he talked about here.

Aaron Lewis of Staind is as fat as ever, and he’s promoting his new solo, country flavored album. Shoot me, then see the stuff here.

Airbourne also had a few minutes to speak for some Swedish web site. Click to see it.

Accept frontman Mark Tornillo talked about his “rock scene”. Video can be found here.

And finally, “made of metal” Rob Halford talked for The Governor’s Ball. You know the drill.

Dave Mustaine wants quality

Apparently Dave Mustaine, of Megadeth (but you already knew that didn’t you?) wants to keep putting out “quality” stuff. Who doesn’t Dave? I would have thought that’s the idea of writing music, right?

Dave’s also still pretty modest. When asked about the Guitar Hero exclusive song, Sudden Death, he responded “The truth is, if you’re a music fan and you don’t like Megadeth, which I find hard to imagine, ‘Sudden Death’ can take things to a higher level for you.”

Review: The Big 4 Live From Sofia, Bulgaria (Deluxe Box Set)

June 22th, 2010 was one of the most metal days in the existence of… everything! The Big Four of Thrash Metal; Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax; not only played the same festival, the Sonisphere Festival in Sofia, Bulgaria, together. No, their performances were also recorded, edited and aired in over 800 cinemas all over the world, where over 100,000 fans watched the spectacle.

Now, a couple of days ago, the Box Set of the event was released. I bought it and shall do a short but to the point review for you within the next couple of minutes. Go on after the jump.

In addition, we will hold a Big Four Week soon (dates to be announced), where we will review each performance in-depth, as well as comparing the DVDs and Blu-Rays of the event and whatever else we can think of.

Marty Friedman likes anime

Well, not really, at least, I don’t know if he really likes anime specifically, but it seems he’s in another Japanese movie. I bet he’s the type of guy who says “Kon’nichiwa” instead of hello and collects Pokemon dolls or something. Ugh.

Former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman has just completed filming for the upcoming Japanese movie “Maebashi Visual Kei”. Due in Japan in early 2011, the film was directed by Otsuru Gitan and is described as “a dramatic and moving look inside the trials and tribulations of a fictitious Visual Kei band in Japan.

Full article here.

Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against the Japanese. The same way I have nothing against black people. But there’s something about white guys emulating either Asian or Black culture that just fucking gets to me. I hope Eminem is not reading this though.

Dave Mustaine wants to make movies

Dave Mustaine. Singer. Guitarist. Author. Filmmaker?

Is there anything Dave won’t do? (except, you know, stop talking about Metallica)

I wouldn’t want it to be a documentary or anything like that, but I’d love to do a movie. It would have to be after I’m all done with Megadeth because once you cross over into the mainstream, there is no way little old Megadeth would be able to compete with that kind of monster.

Read full interview here.

This pretty much sums up Dave. He’s already worried that he’ll be way too good and successful in the movie industry, so he has to finish with Megadeth first, then he can worry about revolutionizing Hollywood.  The man is confident, you can’t take that away from him.
