A whole Load of shite
‘What are the worst Metal albums of all time?’ It’s a question that has been on the tips of Metal fans’ lips for a long time, but ask no more, as the prodigal Metal messiahs, Yahoo (yes, Yahoo – they really know their Metal), have counted down the top 10 worst Metal albums of all time.
So who’s in the list? for it to be a realistic interpretation of ten terrible Metal albums, it should in theory be full of a bunch of no names, that are so bad, no one has actually heard of them. But where would the fun in that be?
Nope, as you’d expect, it’s full of albums by Black Sabbath, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Guns and Roses and other well known acts. The top spot is taken by not just one album, but three. Load, Reload, and St Anger all collectively take the number one position.
Should I be surprised? I guess not. But look, I’m not a fan of any of those albums, but the second you start telling me that they’re the worst Metal albums ever, well I just lose all interest in your opinion. Take Iron Maiden‘s Fear of the Dark which is number 5 in the list. Are you honestly telling me that tracks like ‘Fear of the Dark’ and ‘Wasting Love’ are worse than Korn‘s entire discography? Unlikely.
So to sum up, yes Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden, Metallica, and Black Sabbath have all released some “questionable” albums in their time, I’d still rather listen to them at “their worst” than listen to Revoker, Bullet for my Valentine, Korn, Within Temptation or any of the shite that was failed to be mentioned. But hey, what do I know?

Cliff in peace, Cliff ’em all
Our readers love us:
“Just wanted to tell you guys, yesterday was 25th anniversary of Cliff Burton’s death and it’s sad to see that you haven’t even mentioned it in any of your posts !! Just writing a blog on metal won’t make you a true metal head.. and it won’t save your ass from being a complete fucking poser.. \m/“
-Death 666
Dear Mr. 666, Cliff Burton passed away on September 27. It is still September 27 here, so why didn’t you wait at least one more day until every country in the world hits the 28th, then email us?
Anyway, Cliff Burton was amazing, and I’m really curious what 90s Metallica would have been like with him still in the band.
Whether or not they would have made the Load albums with Cliff still involved is anyone’s guess. But here’s a fact: While he was in Metallica, he kicked ass, and to prove my point, the video above is from ’85. A full year before I was born.
Rest in peace.
P.S. = Hopefully we’re ‘true metalheads’ now. Wink wink.
Kirk Hammett thinks you’re rich too
The thing about being in Metallica is, sometimes you probably forget not everyone in the world is worth 200 zillion dollars. We all remember Hetfield casually talking about traveling in a private jet, as if everyone reading that could relate, right?
Well, seems like he’s not the only guitarist in Metallica who assumes everyone else is loaded, too. Kirk just released his own guitar straps, and guess what — they can cost up to $550 each.
Kirk, that is more money than most of your fans spend on their guitars. Hell, Dave probably can’t afford that, what makes you think your fans do?
That’s the strap in the photo above, which I stole got off his site, and in all fairness, the $550 one is the most expensive model. The prices range from $150 to $200 for the other three models, but that’s still a lot in my opinion.
I can’t comment on how great they are, but judging from the photos, they seem like they’re pretty well made. But again, I’ve seen guitar/amp combos cheaper than those straps, kids who want to grow up and play guitar like Kirk (a dying breed, btw, everyone just wants a Macbook to do dubstep nowadays) will most likely not afford them. Professional musicians who can afford it probably don’t care for the Hammett signature.
But hey, good luck with your business venture, and feel free to ship me a few if you want a review. I’ve already reviewed Jaymz’ picks some time ago, and that was all out of my own pocket. Throw in an autographed CD, and I’ll review the shit out of them, say they were handcrafted by God himself. [/shameless whore]

Metalloureedca has an audio preview
Lulu, the not-awaited album from Lou Reed and Metallica has a preview now. Does it sound as bad as we all thought it would? No… It’s worse.
Honestly, I can’t defend this crap, it sounds pretty bad.
