Don’t listen to Metallica and drive

Here is a clip from Romania with a Metallica fan too busy listening to Master of Puppets to notice the large SUV cutting him off. Shit happens, I guess.

I don’t know who was behind the wheel but I assume it was Dracula.

Don’t worry, both drivers are fine and have no injuries. I hope they learned their lesson: When driving, only listen to Pantera.

Someone went all ‘Metallica’ on Lars

Well well well. I’m not gonna mention karma but guess what, Lars just got sued. Was he found downloading on Napster? Close. He allegedly didn’t pay his assistant for a full year.

A Sausalito man who worked as a personal assistant to Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has filed a lawsuit claiming years of unpaid overtime. Steven Wiig, 38, is seeking unspecified damages for alleged state and federal labor violations, breach of oral contract and continuing wages, according to the suit in Marin Superior Court. The lawsuit names Ulrich and Team Tours, a Burbank company that issued Wiig’s paychecks, as defendants.

I wouldn’t be so quick to judge Lars though, how many people sue famous and rich musicians all the time for a quick buck? I judge Lars for St. Anger though and his horrible ‘biscuit tin can’ snare.

Surf’s up, bra!

Nothing says metal like surfing on a blue surfboard. Luckily, neither Kirk nor Metallica are metal so I guess it’s okay. See? He didn’t even do the devil horns properly.

Anyway, you might think Kirk is home practicing guitar with a metronome, but you’d think wrong. He’s in Hawaii surfing. Well, why wouldn’t he? Next time he has problems keeping up with James on stage, he can just add a ton of wah to hide it… Oh wait.

But yeah, if you fancy seeing more photos of Kirk surfing, check out more photos here.

Metallica are going back to the studio

First off, I’m sorry that Lars Ulrich’s forehead didn’t completely fit the image above but it’s just too damn huge. Now, on to the news. According to Forehead Ulrich, who gave an interview to some Danish newspaper, Metallica are going to enter the studio for the follow-up to ‘Death Magnetic’ in March or April.

Now, did you click the link? Confused because it’s in Danish? Well, haha! But anyhow, here’s a short bit from said interview, translated by Blabbermouth, our main source for bullshit nobody gives a shit about news;

“There’s a really good vibe in the band at the moment. In the past, we would be fed up with Metallica whenever we returned home after a gigantic world tour, but this time it’s different. Therefore it won’t be that long before we start working on a new album. I think that we’ll probably already get the creative process going in March or April and go into the studio. We really want to get back to Metallica quickly because we are enjoying it so much right now.”

There you go, bullshit nobody gives a shit about Metallica news. Don’t take it the wrong way though. Metallica went into the studio in 2004 to start writing the follow-up to ‘St. Anger’ and the album was released over 4 years later. Expect at least 10 ‘Get your old ass out of the Studio’ world tours before that.

Dose Of Overrated

Ever purchased an album because either your buddy, an editor from your favorite metal magazine or a few random people on a message board raved about it being so awesome, yet that certain album didn’t click with you as you imagined? Of course!  I think that has happened to all of us.  Well, here are 7 albums that fit that description perfectly, in my humble opinion.  Why 7?  Why not a top 10 list you ask?  Because today is not Friday, you silly goose.

Make the jump for the 7 most overrated albums of the 2000s.
