Cover your ears and hide your children, Metallica will go back to the studio in 2011.

“There’s a bunch of balls in the air for 2011, but I think the main one is we really want to get back to writing again. We haven’t really written since, what, ’06, ’07, and we want to get back to kind of just being creative again. Right now we are going to just chill out and then probably start up again in, I’d say, March or April, and start probably putting the creative cap back on and start writing some songs.“ said Lars Ulrich while polishing his paintings

Metallica in Rio

Metallica just announced a date for 2011. It’s in Brazil, they will headline “Rock in Rio 2011.”

“We know it’s pretty nutty to announce a show almost a year in advance . . . certainly not something we’ve ever done before! However, when we were asked to headline the original Rock in Rio, the one actually in Rio de Janeiro (!!), we just couldn’t say “no.”

Tickets go on sale on November 19th, 2010 only at the Rock in Rio official website, RockInRio.com.br. Other points of sale will be available only after July, 1, 2011.“

If you’re Brazilian and like Metallica, you’re in luck.

A while ago we told you that in order to play like James Hetfield, all you had to do was buy his signature picks. Not true, it seems, cause I just bought some and I couldn’t write “Master of Puppets 2” like I had originally anticipated. Bummer.
