Some interviews
Lars Ulrich (pictured above) got interviewed by some very annoying guy in Australia. I don’t know if all Australians talk and look like that, but my God I felt like headbutting my monitor. Watch it after the jump.
Steve Flynn of Atheist also got interviewed. He talks about the band’s early days and whatnot, I didn’t really read it but maybe you have a better attention span so click here for it.
Wednesday 13 of Murderdolls (huh?) got interviewed, too. I didn’t know you could name yourself after a date. In that case my name is September 11, not because of the horrible terrorist attacks, but because I lost my virginity then. Sadly, September of 2010, not 2001, but hey, at least I’m a man now. Video also after the jump.
Clint Lowery of Sevendust also has an interview… You’ll find it after the jump, and you gotta give it to Clint, he’s keeping it real, he doesn’t need fancy schmancy pro interviews like Lars. He did a webchat or something cause everything looks horrible, technical wise. That’s what my mom said about my first sextape by the way, but since I’ve gone HD she became a fan.
Adam Lambert likes Metallica
Metallica fans, we got a special treat for you! You guys are going to love this….
Adam Lambert(who?) performed a Metallica classic this evening!
Wanna know which song? Wanna see the joke performance? Make the jump.
Metallica Force Two
New Zealand fans were able to fly to the Auckland Metallica show on a special plane. Well, wasn’t really special, it’s not like it had three wings or anything, but it was set up especially for the people in Christchurch (not an actual church, but a city)
“According to The Sydney Morning Herald, more 100 black-clad, gothic leather-wearing metal fans took advantage of the $NZ1 (approximately USD $54) “grabaseat” deal to fly to the band’s third New Zealand concert. Among them was Andrea Grom, who started the successful Facebook campaign to get Metallica to Christchurch.“

Will Metallica release an EP to celebrate this event? I’m sure they will. Expect another 20 releases from them by the end of October. Make the jump for a video on this, though.
Someone has too much money
As we reported earlier, Metallica has auctioned off drum lessons and lunch with Lars Ulrich. We didn’t really think that would sell for more than $15, but guess what, someone paid $35,000 for it.
I hope they film this. I can’t wait to see the look on the poor schmuck’s face when he asks for a refund and they tell him it’s impossible.
I’m kidding, of course, as this money is for charity, and they raised a total of $8.5 million so that can’t be bad. Read the full article here and make sure to read the comments, as well. For a quick laugh, you know?
Whole Lotta Profit
Almost 2 million people paid good money to see a middle aged man playing guitar in his shorts this year. We’re talking, of course, of metal legends and riff recyclers AC/DC, who sold almost 2,000,000 tickets since January 1st, 2010.
That’s pretty impressive, considering Metallica sold ‘only’ around 540,000.
But if you want to be disgusted, check out the full list here and see how awful taste in music was this year. Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Pink… Yeah, they all sold more tickets than Metallica. Not that Metallica is the be all, end all of great taste, but just to put things in perspective. AC/DC were the top earners, but the Top 20 is almost entirely populated by awful acts.
