Lars compares 'Big Four' to iPhone app

Metallica might be old, but they’re still up to date with the youth, yo. As Lars demonstrates in a recent  interview, comparing The Big Four to “something on the iPhone.”

The vibe on this thing is so big, we’d be stupid to ignore it. You know on your iPhone, you can move the weather maps up and down? Well, the ‘Big Four’ is quickly moving up to the top in terms of potential occurrences for the next couple of years.

Well, Lars, you know that button on the iPhone, the one that turns it off? Apparently that’s what “The Big Four” should have “clicked,” circa 1990.

Metallica rewards volunteers

As reported earlier, a 7.2 earthquake hit the city of Christchurch in New Zealand, threatening to cancel Metallica‘s shows there. The band assured everyone that they would continue as planned, but now that student volunteers are cleaning up the city, Metallica decided to reward them. How? With Metallica tickets of course. No meet and greet, no autographs, hell… Not even a t-shirt. Just a ticket.

If you’re like me though, you’re probably wondering: “How did the guys come up with such a great reward?” — Assumption after the jump

Metallica still playing in Christchurch

Christchurch, New Zealand sounds like the type of “Location” the Pope would use on Twitter as a joke. Turns out, it’s a real city.  A 7.2 earthquake hit the city recently (although I don’t know why it got such a low rating, it’s still a 10 in my book if it hit something with “Christ” in it) and Megadeth fans were happy to speculate that Metallica will not play their scheduled shows there.

Wrong. Lars Ulrich was happy to inform the fans that the lease on his Mercedes is not up yet, so he HAS to make every show, regardless of natural disasters.

“We’re still traveling to Christchurch . . . hope to see YOU there!” is what a recent post on Metallica.com says.

When asked if he hopes for an earthquake during their concert, Dave Mustaine had no comment. He just laughed. Frantically. Fran-tic-tic-tic-tic…

Metallica painting for sale

A new Metallica painting is on sale. I say sale, the author will pay you good money if you help him get rid of it.

When asked why Metallica sold out 20 years ago, Lars Ulrich had no comments. I mean, he mumbled something, but who can understand that guy?
