The Clown is branching out

Shawn “Clown” Crahan is branching out. Which shouldn’t come as a surprise since every other member of Slipknot has a side project, plus the Clown does NOTHING in that band anyway, so he prolly needs something to do besides eating.

Anyways, he has a new band called The Black Dots of Death, and if you think the name is bad, wait till you hear the music. It’s as if someone took a NIN song and made it way worse. Is that even possible? Yes it is. It makes Trent Reznor look like Mozart.

This is my new project, this is my new pain. Enjoy.said the Clown about it.
Wrong, Mr. Crahan, it’s your project but OUR pain. Ear pain, to be specific.” said Dose of Metal.

Make the jump to see/hear what I’m talking about.

Jingle bells, Slipknot smells…

Corey Taylor of Slipknot, Stone Sour and The Powerpuff Girls is releasing a Christmas song. Really? I guess he wants to be up there with the likes of Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez cause I’m sure they’re also releasing stuff this Christmas.

The song is apparently called “X-M@$” and is gonna be dirty. Although I’m sure he means it’s gonna be ‘c|1r7y,’ cause obviously Corey‘s obviously down with the leet ASCII crowd.

Anyway, apparently it’ll be out December 4th and no other info is available. Nor needed. Nor cared for.

Never trust a Clown

Slipknot‘s Clown, also known as the guy who adds nothing to the band’s sound, is modest about his band’s accomplishments (which he had nothing to do with).

We’ll be back. It’s not a band, it’s a culture, and you can’t just wipe a culture off the face of the earth. People won’t have it. said Shawn “Clown” Crahan in some interview somewhere or something…

Really? A culture, huh? Well, come on, no need to get modest on us, Clown, tell us how you really feel about Slipknot‘s achievements.

To be fair, Slipknot‘s gimmick thing with the masks is very original, and has spawn a lot of imitations. Bands like Kiss, Gwar or Mushroomhead, who just took Slipknot‘s idea, went back in time and did it before them. So it is something of a phenomenon.

Corey Taylor, "Mad Genius"

Corey Taylor

Do you know those cheesy VH1 shows, where they talk about a washed up artist, and bring a bunch of even more washed up no ones to talk about them as if they have insight on what’s going on in someone’s head? Well, get a paper bag, because you might throw up, Fuse TV has its own show called Mad Genius, and they’re doing a special on Corey Taylor:

Each half-hour episode of “Mad Genius” explores in detail the lives and stories of brilliant, yet often rebellious artists like Lil Wayne, Britney Spears and Corey Taylor, all of whose eccentric personalities have resulted in groundbreaking music.

Wait, stop. Hahahahaha…

Through interviews with music executives, producers, friends, bandmates and other artists, each episode provides insight into how music’s wayward sons and daughters’ personalities and instinctual abilities contributed to their musical creations.

You can see three videos after the jump, where a bunch of people show how Corey is “mad” and a “genius”. I don’t know which alternate universe or timeline they live in, because I’d call the show ‘Whiny Mediocre.’

White Headlines

White Wizzard (pictured above) covered “We Rock” and then offered it for free download. You can get it here, but be warned, you have to sign up with your email. It’s a trick. Don’t do it!!!

The clown from Slipknot went to Sirius for an interview. Did he wear his stupid mask? Of course he did. Anyways, he pretty much says the band is moving forward without Paul (shocking, I know) and other stuff I didn’t really pay attention to cause I’m drawing tits in Photoshop. Watch the video after the jump.

“Married to Rock” is a new reality series that follows the lives of three “rock star wives.” These chicks are married to members of Velvet Revolver and Jane’s Addiction, so my question is, what rockers are they talking about?

Bret Michaels was on Ellen to talk about… wait for it… his ‘health.’ Didn’t see that one coming, did you? Watch the video after the jump if you still haven’t gotten sick of his ramblings about his stroke like the rest of us.
