S.O.A.D do R.A.R and R.I.P
This onslaught of initials means something. No, it’s not a Korn song, although if you do read it fast a few times in a row, it does sound like a ‘classic’ Korn breakdown “SOAD DO RAR AND RIP SOAD DO RAR AND RIP!!!”
But it actually means that System of A Down may co-headline the German festivals Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park next year. Now that Serj‘s album has flopped been released, they can be together again.
I’ve actually been to Rock Im Park and met a lot of drunk and stoned people, not a whole lot of hot chicks though, unless short and chubby goths are your thing, but if you want to get drunk on overpriced beer and get sloppy blowjobs from ugly midget rock chicks then you should definitely go.

System of a Download
Apparently, in regards to the much rumored reunion, an official announcement concerning a System of a Down comeback will be made on Monday 29th November. The brighter readers of DoM might also have worked out that just by coincidence, that also happens to be the same day that the UK’s Download Festival is making their own special announcement. Wow what a coincidence…
When asked by a fan via Twitter if there is any truth to reports that System of a Down will play next year’s Download festival, bassist Shavo Odadjian replied, “Stay tuned.”
It’s looking likely that the band will be announcing a full tour next year, with them headlining many of the top summer festivals. Read more here.
Download announcement soon
All you Download festival go-ers will be happy to hear that a big announcement will be coming November 29th, which will include 2 of the 3 headliners being announced. Also, early bird tickets will be available from December 3rd.
Lots of rumors have been circulating regarding possible headliners, with the following names all being mentioned: System of a Down, Foo Fighters, Muse, Sound Garden, Bon Jovi and Van Halen. We can only hope and pray that most of those aren’t true.
You can follow the organiser, Andy Copping, to get all your Download news straight to your Twitter feed.
System of a back!
The title of this post doesn’t make sense? Well neither does System of a Down‘s name.
Ignore my last post, because THIS is the news of the century. Ok, maybe not quite, but this is one band I think a lot of people would be excited to see reform.
According to the official blog of Francis Zégut, host of the show “Pop Rock Station” on the French radio station RTL2, System of a Down will reform and perform at the Palais Omnisports de Paris Bercy in Paris, France on June 6, 2011. It is expected that System will also play a number of the European summer festivals as well. With a Download Festival announcement coming soon, is it possible System will be headlining Download? It’s a possibilty.
I just hope this news is true, if only so we don’t have to listen to any more solo efforts from Serj.
Blitzkritik: Serj Tankian – Imperfect Harmonies
Alright, so you know the score. Blitzkritik means I listen to an album and write the review as I go through it. Fast. To the point. Superficial. Subjective. Lame. Everything a review has to be. Here we go.
I’m not gonna beat around the bush… I’ve always hated Serj, but not necessarily ‘Serj the Musician,’ although he is pretentious and condescending with his music, but mostly ‘Serj, the propagandist.’
I just find it completely lame that he wasn’t born in the United States, but went there as child, met his future bandmates, got rich and famous, and now is criticizing the very country that made it all possible. I have an idea, why don’t you go back to Armenia?
Anyways, he’s released a solo album. Will I like it? Probably not, but who knows?
